梅の老木 old Japanese plum tree

この梅の老木は、皮だけが残ったような、朽ちた幹ですが、立派に花を咲かせました。

This old Japanese plum tree has a rotten trunk as if only the skin remained, but it bloomed  proudly.

親指トム Tom Thumb

梅の花の中から親指トムが顔を出しました。

Tom Thumb has emerged from Japanese plum blossoms.

土産物 souvenir

安価なお土産品ですが、何故か愛着を感じています。今日は、ちゃぶ台を引っ張り出してきて、写真撮影をしました。

It is a cheap souvenir, but I don't know the reason, but I love it. Today, I pulled out a chabudai  and took a picture of the souvenir on it.
A chabudai is a table with folding short feet table used in the old days of Japan.

福寿草 Far East Amur adonis

福寿草は、花びらをパラボラアンテナのように広げ、日光を浴びて元気いっぱいです。

Far East Amur adonis spreads its petals like a parabolic antenna and is full of energy in the sunlight.

河津桜 kawazu-sakura

早咲きの桜が、咲き始めました。ソメイヨシノと比べると、ピンク色に深みがあります。

Early blooming cherry trees have begun to bloom. The pink color is deeper than popular Somei Yoshino.

梅の枝ぶり branches of Japanese apricot

梅の枝は、突然方向を変えたり、次にはまっすぐ進んだり、時にはねじれます。気まぐれなのか、意図あってのことなのでしょうか。

The branches of Japanese apricots suddenly change direction, go straight next and sometimes twist. Is it whimsical or intentional?

ロウバイ wintersweet

ロウバイの園芸品種であるソシンロウバイは、花びらがすべて黄色一色です。一方、ロウバイは内側の花びらが赤茶色をしています。
どちらも、花の盛りが過ぎて終わりに近づくと花脈に沿って黒い線があらわれます。

All petals of Chimonanthus Praecox, cultivated variety of wintersweet, are yellow. On the other hand, a wintersweet has reddish brown color petals inside.
After the prime time, black lines appear along the veins of both flowers.
