カジノキ Broussonetia papyrifera
カジノキとヒメコウゾは、よく似ている木です。そのため、学名にも混同が見られます。ヒメコウゾの学名は、コウゾ属カジノキと命名されています。
どちらも日本和紙の原料とされていました。今では、野生化したカジノキが、あちこちの山野で見られます。
The trees of "Broussonetia papyrifera" and "Broussonetia kazinoki" resemble each other. So there is a confusion in a scientific name of "Broussonetia kazinoki". The letter string of "kazinoki" means "Broussonetia papyrifera" in Japanese.

アワフキムシ spittle insect
アワフキムシは、草に宿ると思っていましたが、木の幹でも泡を吹いていました。樹液も吸えるのでしょうか？

マタタビ silvervine
猫が、マタタビの匂いを嗅いで、恍惚感に浸ると聞いたことがありますが、その状況を見たことはありません。マタタビの木を見つけたので、試してみたいのですが、生憎我が家では猫を飼っていません。

コミスジチョウ Pallas's Sailer
こげ茶色の翅に、白の斑点が3本の筋状につながっているので、コミスジチョウと名付けられました。特徴を端的に示す覚えやすい名前です。

どどめ色 mulberry
熟した桑の実の色は、方言でどどめ色と呼ばれます。私には真っ黒に見えますが、つまむと、指が暗い赤紫色に染まります。多分、この色がどどめ色なのでしょう。
なお、この熟した桑の実はとても美味しいです。この木に近づくときは、ウルシの木がそばにないか注意してください。

ヌルデ Rhus javanica
ウルシにそっくりな形ですが、葉軸に翼があるので、これはヌルデです。私はウルシにはかぶれますが、ヌルデにはかぶれたことがありません。
ヌルデは秋の紅葉も美しいですが、若い葉の色も赤く趣があります。若葉のこの色は紫外線から身を守るためだと思います。多くのバラと同じですね。

アカスジキンカメムシ Poecilocoris lewisi
遠くから花の蕾かと思いましたが、アカスジキンカメムシでした。
蝉も、アカスジキンカメムシと同じカメムシ目に属していることは意外です。

ヒメコウゾ Broussonetia kazinoki
コウゾとミツマタの樹皮は、和紙の原料として知られています。庭に咲く美しいミツマタの花は、よく見かけますが、コウゾはそれほどでもありません。
写真は、ヒメコウゾの花です。上部が雌花で、下部が雄花。雌花の赤紫で糸状に広がる花柱は珍しい形をしています。

栗の花 flower of chestnut
栗の花が散る頃には梅雨に入る、と言われています。気象庁は本日、関東地方が梅雨に入ったと宣言しました。
それにしても、栗の花は大変生臭いです。

ミヤマモンキチョウか Colias palaeno?
羽根がピンクに縁取りされた黄色の蝶に出会いました。希少のミヤマモンキチョウかと一瞬思いましたが、ここは、海抜160mの関東平野ですから、モンキチョウです。
ミヤマモンキチョウは、森林限界に生息する蝶ですから。

It looked like a rare "Colias palaeno" at first, but this place was Kanto plains of 160m above sea level, so I decided it was an "Eastern Pale Clouded Yellow."

小さな花が次々に降ってくるのですが、見上げても花は見えません。
トチノキの花は、葉の上に立ち上がる穂に付いているからです。下から見ると多くの大きな葉の陰になってしまいます。

ギンリョウソウ Monotropastrum humile
それほど珍しくはありませんが、見つけると写真に撮らずには、いられなくなります。足場が悪い場所なのでちょっと無理をしました。
