麦仙翁(ムギセンノウ) corn cockle

風にそよぐ姿を写したかったのですが、三脚を持っていなかったので諦めました。

I wanted to take a picture of the flowers rustle in the wind, but I didn't have a tripod so I gave up.

破れ傘(ヤブレガサ) shredded umbrella

葉の形が、破れ傘を連想させます。
最近の傘は丈夫でめったに破れたりしません。骨は、時に折れますけれど。

The shape of the leaves is reminiscent of a shredded umbrella.
Today's umbrellas are durable and rarely tear. Sometimes a bone of an umbrella will break, though.

胡蝶花(シャガ) Iris Japonica

シャガは三倍体の植物だから、全てのシャガは同一の遺伝子、つまりクローンですが、このシャガはちょっと違う特徴があります。

Since the Iris Japonica is a triploid plant, all Iris Japonica have the same gene (i.e., clone), but the characteristics of this Iris Japonica are slightly different.

カルミア kalmia

カルミアは、スプーンの木とも呼ばれます。
くぼんだ花の形からそう呼ばれるのかと思っていましたが、実は、アメリカインディアンが、カルミアの根を材料に、スプーンを作っていたからでした。

Kalmia is also called a spoon tree.
I was wondering if it was called so because of the concave flower shape, but in fact, it was because American Indians used the roots of Kalmia to make spoons.

プリンセス ミチコ Princess Michiko

バラほど種類によっていろいろな咲き方をする花は、他にないと思います。この花は平咲き、名前の通り平たく咲きます。

I suppose that roses have many flower forms than any other flowers. This bloom shape is relatively flat for roses.

ユリイカ eureka

ユリイカは、ギリシャ語で分かったという意味だそうです。

I've heard the word of eureka means "got it" in Greek.

羽衣 hagoromo

ピンク色が綺麗な、国産のバラ"羽衣"です。

It is a domestically produced rose, Hagoromo, with a beautiful pink color.
Hagoromo is a light and beautiful sleeveless cloak made of bird feathers, which "celestial maiden" wears to fly in the sky.

ルイ ドゥ フューネ Louis de Funes

バラの花形にはいろいろありますが、剣弁高芯咲き（けんべこうしんざき）の姿は、凛としていて良いと思います。

Although there are many flower forms in roses, the tip of the petals is sharp, and the high-centered flower shape gives me a dignified impression.

カクテル cocktail

カクテルという名前のバラの色は遠目には赤色ですが、花の中央部は黄色です。赤色に黄色が混じっているので、カクテルという名前がつけられたようです。

The color of the rose named cocktail is red from a distance, but the center part of it is yellow. It seems that it was named cocktail, because it was a mixture of red and yellow.

針槐(ハリエンジュ) locust tree

ハリエンジュより、ニセアカシアの名前の方が通りがいいですね。
藤の花に似ていますが、ツル性ではありません。ツル性でない藤の木もあるのかと思いましたが、この木はニセアカシアだと、詳しい方から教えていただきました。

This flower resembles a wisteria flower, but it is not a climbing plant. At first, I was wondering if there is a wisteria tree that is not vine, but I was told by someone familiar with these trees that this tree is locust tree.

姫蔓蕎麦(ヒメツルソバ) victory carpet

原産地はヒマラヤですが、野生化が進み日当たりの良い場所に群生しているのをよく見かけます。

The place of origin is the Himalayas, and as they gradually escape from the garden, they are often found in sunny places.

赤花夕化粧（アカバナユウゲショウ）rose evening primrose

朝日に照らされたアカバナユウゲショウです。名前の由来は"夕方から咲く"ですが、早朝から咲いています。

It is a "rose evening primrose" illuminated by the morning sun. The origin of the name is "blossom from the evening", but it blossoms from early morning.

白雲木(ハクウンボク) styrax obassia

普段は目立たない木ですが、花が咲くと大量に白い花をつけるので人目をひきます。根元は、雪が降ったように白くなっていました。

It is a tree that does not usually stand out, but when blooms it has a lot of white flowers, so it attracts notice. The area around the root of the tree was white as if it had snowed.

ホットリップス hot lips sage

ホットリップスは、チェリーセージの品種の一つです。赤と白の鮮やかなコントラストが、目をひきます。

Hot lips sage is one of the cherry sage varieties. The vivid contrast between red and white stand out.

立浪草(タツナミソウ) skull cap

白いタツナミソウも植えられていましたが、泥がはねて汚れていました。背の低い草は降雨は苦手のようです。

White skullcaps were also planted, but was dirty  with mud spots. Short grass seems to be weak at rainfall.

松の花 flowers of pine

松の花には花びらも萼もありません。それは、花粉が風で運ばれるので、昆虫を呼ぶ花びらは必要ないからです。松の花には、雌しべと雄しべの代わりに、先端にある雌花とその下の雄花の二つの花があります。枝をゆすると、雄花から花粉が大量に噴出されます。

Pine flowers have neither petals nor calyxes. Pollens are carried by the wind, so petals that appeal insects are not needed. Instead of pistils and stamens, pine flowers have two flowers, a female at the tip and a male just below. When you shake the branch, a large amount of pollen is ejected from the male flowers.

壺珊瑚(ツボサンゴ) Coral bells

ヒューケラとも呼ばれる、ユキノシタ科の植物です。園芸品種が多く、色々な花の色が楽しめます。

It is a plant of the family Saxifragaceae, also called huekera. There are many garden varieties, so you can enjoy various flower colors.

(弱草藤)ナヨクサフジ Hairy vetch

カラスノエンドウに似ていますが、花は藤の花のように沢山つきます。

It resembles a Narrow-leaved Vetch, but has many flowers like wisteria flowers.

生命力 power to stay alive

わずかの隙間から成長する草。あくまで目的を遂げようとする不屈の力を感じます。

Grasses have grown from small gaps. I feel the indomitable power to achieve the purpose.

アブ hoverfly

この昆虫は羽が2枚なので多分アブだと思います。
昆虫の心臓は人間と大きく異なり、細長い形をしています。血管は、閉じたループを形成しておらず、動脈は途中で途切れ開放されています。心臓から出た血液（血液リンパhemolymph)は、動脈から溢れ、体内を満たします。静脈は無いので、心臓には弁の付いた穴（心門）があるので、血液リンパはそこを通ってまた心臓に戻ります。
血液リンパには、ヘモグロビンが存在しません。そのため、血液リンパは酸素を体内に送ることはできません。空気は腹部の側面にある気門から取り込まれ、空気を体内に送る気管に取り込まれます。
外骨格の昆虫だからこその仕組みです。
多様な生命の仕組みに興味を覚えます。


This insect has two wings, so I think it's probably a hoverfly.
The heart of insects is very different from humans and is long and narrow. The blood vessel does not form a closed loop, and the arterio is the short and open end. Blood (hemolymph)  from the heart overflows from the arterio and fills the body. Since there are no veins, the heart has valved holes (ostiums) through which the hemolymph returns to the heart.
Hemolymph dose not have hemoglobin. So, hemolymph cannot send oxygen to inside the body. Air is taken in from the stigma on the side of the abdomen and into the trachea that sends air into the body.
It is a mechanism because it is an outer skeleton insect.
I am interested in various life mechanisms.

鬼胡桃(オニグルミ) Japanese walnut

オニグルミは、雌雄同株で、雄花と雌花があります。
赤い雌花が上に伸び、緑の雄花は房になって垂れ下がります。

Japanese walnut is a monoecious plant and has female and male flowers.
Red female flowers extend upward, and green male flowers hang down in tufts.

花水木(ハナミズキ) dogwood

逆光。太陽は、写真の少し左上にあります。

碇草(イカリソウ) barrenwort

その花の形から、碇や司教の帽子、翼などにたとえられます。

It is likened to anchor, bishop's hat, and also wing because of its appearance.

オダマキ Aquilegia

見方によって七変化するオダマキです。

It is Aquilegia that changes its appearance much depending on how I look at it.

ホタルカズラ Buglossoides zollingerino

ホタルカズラは、日本では絶滅危惧種に指定されています。咲き始めの花の色は赤紫で、次第にコバルトブルーに変わっていきます。

This plant is designated as an endangered species in Japan. It begins to bloom in magenta, and gradually changes to cobalt blue.

大甘菜(オオアマナ) star of Bethlehem

大甘菜(オオアマナ)と、花韮（ハナニラ）の花は、よく似ています。どちらも英名では「ベツレヘムの星」と呼ばれることもあるようです。

The flowers of star Bethlehem and Spring stars are similar, so in English they are both occasionally called the Bethlehem star of the same name.

都忘れ (ミヤコワスレ) miyako-wasure

この花を見ると都への思いを忘れられるとは、随分悲しい名前の花ですね。

The meaning of the Japanese name of this flower is that it could make the man who was exiled forget the feeling of going to his hometown. It's a sad name.

桃色蒲公英(モモイロタンポポ) crepis rubra

モモイロタンポポは、ヨーロッパから大正時代に伝わりました。私たちに、身近な黄色いタンポポとは異なる属の植物です。
近年、日本でも野生化したモモイロタンポポが見られるようになりました。

The crepis rubra was introduced to Japan from Europe during the Taisho era. It is a plant of a different genus than the our familiar yellow dandelions.
In recent years, wild crepas rubras have been found in some areas such as Tokyo.

ネモフィラ baby blue eyes

ネモフィラには、いくつかの花色がありますが、青色がやはりネモフィラらしいです。

Baby blue eyes have several flower colors, but blue is suitable to baby blue eyes.

コロナウイルス用消毒液 disinfectant for coronavirus

消毒用アルコールの入手が難しい状況ですが、食器・手すり・ドアノブなど身近な物の消毒には、アルコールよりも、塩素系漂白剤が有効です。自宅で作る方法を図（厚生労働省資料）に示します。人体には使用できません。
キッチンハイターのハイターは、ドイツ語で”晴れた、澄んだ”という意味です。英語で漂白剤は、bleach です。

Currently, it is difficult to get alcohol for disinfection, but 0.05% or more sodium hypochlorite fluid is effective for disinfecting familiar items such as tableware, handrails and doorknobs. You can make it by adding water to chlorine bleach. It cannot be used on the human body.

ハナミズキ dogwood

白いハナミズキの花（総苞）が、青空に映えます。

White dogwood flowers (involucres) are very nice in the blue sky.
