姫檜扇水仙(ヒメヒオウギズイセン) crocosmia

花は、茎の下の方から順々に咲き、枯れます。

The flowers bloom / die in sequence from the bottom of the stem.

蒸留酒が消毒薬に Distilled liquor became disinfectant

ある酒メーカーが消毒薬の販売を開始しました。ムック本が出版されるほどの人気です。
私はそれをお酒として試してみました、それはチクチクと口の中を刺激しましたが、一種の甘さも感じました。
飲み物ではありませんので、真似をしてはいけません。

A certain distillery has begun to sell a disinfectant. It is so popular that the mook (half-magagine, half-book) is published.
As I tried it as a liquor, I felt tingling in my mouth, but I also felt a kind of sweetness.
You must not drink it, it is not a beverage.

天竺牡丹(テンジクボタン) dahlia

花の形が牡丹に似ているのと、インド経由で日本に持ち込まれたので、テンジクボタンと呼ばれます。でも、ダリアの方が通りが良いですね。天竺とは、インドの旧名です。

It is called a "tree peony of India" in Japanese because the shape of the flower is similar to peony and it was brought to Japan via India, but to call it "Dahlia" is more common.

百合(ユリ) lily

ユリの花は真上から見るとヒトデのようです。隣には早咲きのコスモスが咲いていました。

A lily flower looks like a starfish when viewed from directly above. The cosmos of early blooming was next to it.

美女桜(ビジョザクラ) vdrbena

不在者投票をするため、散歩がてら遠回りして市役所へ向かう道端で見つけた花です。写真を撮っていたら、何ヶ所も蚊に刺されてしまいました。

I took a roundabout way to the city hall to vote before election day, also I enjoyed a walk. This is the flower I found on the road side on the way. While I took photographs, I was bitten in several places by mosquitoes.

ダンスパーティ danceparty

ダンスパーティは、リズム感のある咲き方をするアジサイです。崖っぷちの茂みに咲いていました。

Flowers of the hydrangea danceparty have a rhythmic sense. They were blooming in the bushes on the cliff.

お多福紫陽花(オタフクアジサイ) hydrangea ayesha

花びらが丸まっているので立体感があります。病気にかかったガクアジサイを品種改良したと言われています。

The petals are rounded, so they looks like a three-dimensional appearance. It is said that this hydrangea have improved the diseased lacecap hydrangea.

下野(シモツケ) Japanese Spiraea

シモツケは、バラ科の花です。下野国（現在の栃木県）で発見されたので、この名前がつきました。

A Japanese Spiraea is a flower of the family Rosaceae. Its origins are Japan and East Asia.

薊(アザミ) thistle

アザミは、葉の切れ込みが鋭く、棘も多く厳しい雰囲気があります。花は、やがて風に飛ぶ種になりますが、タンポポの種に比べると、やはり厳しい雰囲気が感じられます。

Thistle has a severe atmosphere because it has deeply cut shape leaves and many thorns. Flowers eventually become the seeds that fly in the wind, and compared to those of a dandelion, these also have harsh atmosphere.

蛍袋(ホタルブクロ) Campanula punctata

釣り鐘のようなホタルブクロが、鈴なりに咲いていました。

金糸梅(キンシバイ) Hypericum patulum

花の形が梅ににて、雄しべが細長く、黄色であることが、名前の由来です。美容柳(ビヨウヤナギ)の花によく似ています。

The origin of the name is that the shape of the flower looks like a plum and stamens are long and thin and yellow. It is similar to the flower of Chinese hypericum.

ブラシの木 bottlebrush

名前の通り、花はボトルを洗うブラシそっくりです。写真で分かりますが、この木は花の先から枝をのばす不思議な木です。

As the name suggests, the flower is similar to a brush for bottle cleaning. As you can see in this photo, bottlebrush trees are strange, they extend a branch from the tip of each flower.

アマリリス amaryllis

アマリリスは、活気にあふれていますが、寒さに弱いそうです。

Amaryllis is full of energy, but seems to be weak to the cold.

雪の下(ユキノシタ) strawberry geranium

以前、ユキノシタを庭に植えたのですが、雑草と間違えられて抜かれてしまいました。名札を立てておかないといけませんね。

I planted strawberry geranium in my place, but someone pulled out by mistaken for a weed. I should have put up up a name tag.

八重咲きドクダミ double-flowered Houttuynia cordata

廃屋の日当たりの悪い玄関先に、八重咲きドクダミが咲いていました。
花弁に見える白い部分は実は葉で、シベに見える先端の黄色い部分が花です。ちょっと意外ですね。

A double-flowered Houttuynia cordata was blooming at the entrance where the sun did not shine of the abandoned house.
The white things that look like petals are leaves actually, and yellow parts of the tip that look like stamen are  flowers. It is slightly surprising.

こちらは普通に見られるドクダミです。白い葉の数は、普通は4枚ですがこれには6枚あります。

This is a usual Houttuynia cordata. The number of white leaves is usually four, but it has six.

立葵 (タチアオイ) hollyhock

花に近づいて見ると、雄しべが花弁化しているのが分かります。萼や葉も花弁化する植物も見られますが、なぜだかわかりません。昆虫をより引き付けるためなのでしょうか。

If you look closer to this flower, you can see that the stamens have become petals.  There are some plants whose calyxes and leaves have become petals, but I don't know why. I wonder if it attracts more insects.

忍冬(スイカズラ) Japanese Honeysuckle

花は、二つづつ対になって咲いています。

The flowers bloom in pairs.

さくらんぼ cherry

ソメイヨシノの並木に、実を結すんだ木が何本かありました。食べてみましたが、不味い味です。
ソメイヨシノは花を見るのを楽しむ木で、実を食べる木ではありません。

There were several trees bearing fruits in the row of Yoshino cherry trees. I tried it, but it tasted bad.
Somei Yoshino is a tree to enjoy seeing flowers, not to eat fruits.

ムラサキツユクサ tradescantia

久しぶりに見るムラサキツユクサです。こんなに花が大きかたかな。

I saw tradescantias after a long time. I wonder if the flower is so big.

難波茨(ナニワイバラ) anemone rose

この花は野ばらより大きいので、ナニワイバラだと思います。浪速の商人が中国から取り寄せたそうです。もう少し全体を観察しておけばよかった。

This flower is larger than wild roses, so I think it is anemone rose. I should have observed the whole plant.

バラ園の清掃 cleaning the rose garden

このバラ園は、清掃にエンジンブロアーを使って、散った花びらを吹き飛ばします。一緒にまきあげられた土埃が花びらに着いてしまいます。

This rose garden uses engine blowers to clean up scattered petals. So the dust of soil that is thrown up with petals end up contaminating the petals.

アンジェラ angela

アンジェラは、圧倒的な花つきの良さが特徴で、遠くからでも認識できます。

Roses, Angela, can be recognized from a distance because it has the characteristic of having many flowers.

天道虫(てんとう虫) ladybug

天道虫の「天道」は、自然の摂理を意味しますが、太陽のことも表します。
てんとう虫は、枝や葉の端まで行くと、太陽に向かって、飛び立つ習性をもつということから、てんとう虫と名付けられたそうです。
私の観察では、上り詰めると、Uターンして戻って来ます。

A ladybug is called a "Tentou-Mushi" in Japanese. "Tentou" means the providence of nature, or the sun. "Musi" means an insect.
It is said that a "Tentou-Mushi" has a habit of flying toward the sun when it reaches the tip of a branch or leaf. That's why it was named "Tentou-Mushi."
In my observation, it always makes a U-turn.

泡吹虫(アワフキムシ) froghopper

アワフキムシの幼虫は、植物から大量の樹液を吸い込み、そして排泄します。排泄物は泡立つので、身を守るよい巣になります。

Froghopper lalvas suck a large amounts of liquid from plants and void it. The excrement foams and forms a good nest to protect them.

国花 national flower

この薔薇の名前は、アメリカです。
アメリカ合衆国の国花はバラです。日本では、国花を法律で定めていませんが、事実上、菊と桜が国花です。

The name of this rose is America.
The national flower of the United States is roses. In Japan, national flowers are not specified by law, but actually, chrysanthemums and cherry blossoms are national flowers.

ジャルダンドゥフランス jardins de france

ジャルダンドゥフランスは、多花性のバラですが、今年は花の数が少ないです。

Jardin de France is a multi-flowered rose, but this year it has a little number of flowers.

虫取り撫子(ムシトリナデシコ) catchfly

この植物の名前は、食虫植物を連想させる名前ですが、ムシトリナデシコは、食虫植物ではありません。茎に粘着性の分泌液を出すだけです。触ってみましたが、想像したほど強い粘着力はありませんでした。

The name of this plant reminds you that it a carnivorous plant, but this plant, catchfly, is not a carnivorous plant. It just puts out a sticky secretion on the stem. When I touched it, I felt a weak  adhesive force.

レディエマハミルトン lady emma hamilton

同じ株に咲く2つの花ですが、手前はオレンジ色で、奥のは少しピンクがかっています。

These two flowers bloomed on the same plant, but the one in the front was orange in color and another one was slightly pink.

雉子(キジ) green pheasant

日頃、オスのキジはときどき見かけるのですが、つがいを見る機会はあまりありません。
望遠レンズを持っていれば、良い写真が撮れたのですが。

I often encounter a wild male green pheasant, but there are not many opportunities to look at a couple.
If I had brought a telephoto lens, I could have gotten in some good shots.
