イルミネーション illumination lights show

行き先で偶然にも、イルミネーションショウを、見ることができました。

I was able to watch the illumination lights show by chance while outing.

カクレミノ kakuremino

カクレミノの葉にはいろいろの形があります。先端が3つに裂けた葉が、一番この木にふさわしいと思います。
和名の"kakuremino"は、"着ている人の姿を隠す蓑"という意味です。

The tree named "kakuremino" has various figure leaves. I think the leaves whose tip is split into three are eligible for this tree.
"Kakuremino" of the Japanese name means "a raincoat that hides the figure of the person wearing it".

渋柿 astringent persimmon

渋柿を干すと甘くなりますが、甘柿は美味しくなりません。だから、この柿は渋柿です。

It will become sweet when astringent persimmons are put in the sun, but sweet persimmons will not become delicious. Therefore, these are astringent persimmons.

イイギリ Idesia polycarpa

葉が落ちて朱色の実が青空に映えます。

The leaves had fallen and the vermillion fruits are shining in the blue winter sky.

柿の実 persimmon

柿を見ると気になってしかたがありません。
ところで、日本の町には電信柱と電線が多いです。

I am fascinated by persimmons whenever I look at them.
By the way, there are many power poles and electric wires in the town of Japan.

花序が随分立ち上がっています。

サザンカ sasanqua

今年の山茶花は、例年より花を多くつけます。

This year's sasanqua produce masses of flowers than usual.

ヤツデの花 flower of Japanese aralia

ヤツデの葉はサポニンを含みます。サポニンは、その界面活性作用により細胞膜を破壊する特性があります。その昔、トイレのそばにヤツデがよく植えられたのは、蛆虫退治に葉が使われたからだそうです。

The leaf of the Japanese aralia contains saponin. The saponin has a characteristic to destroy a cell membrane by the surface-active action. The reason why it was planted well near a restroom in the old days seems to be that the leaves were used for maggot extermination.

蹲(つくばい) washbasin

茶室に入る前に、手を清めるために置かれた器です。落ち葉がさらに趣を加えました。

It is a basin to cleanse hands before entering the tea-ceremony room. The fallen leaves add elegance to the place.

浅色 pale color

淡黄色の葉と薄いピンクの実が、ほどよく残っています。そして、苔の緑がアクセントをつけました。

Pale yellow leaves and thin pink fruits are moderately remaining. And green moss gives accent to the scene.

マユミ Hamilton's spindletree

ブッシュカン Buddha's hand

この植物は、シトロン（ミカン科の植物）の変種で仏手柑と呼ばれます。
ちょっと不気味な形状の果実は、拳を握りしめたように見えます。

This plant is a variation of citron, citrus species, and is called "Buddha's hand" or "fingered citron."
The shape of the fruit looks slightly weird and like a clenched fist.

自販機の上で on a vending machine

猫が自販機の上で人を気にするでもなく、まったりと日向ぼっこをしています。

A cat is basking in the sun in a relaxed mood on a vending machine without paying attention to people.

絶妙のバランス excuisite balance

左後ろの木から飛ばされてきたのでしょう、今はかろうじてここに留まっています。

It probably was blown from the tree behind the left, but now it is barely staying here now.

シクラメン cyclamen

華やかなシクラメンは、この時期プレゼントとして人気がありますが、この素朴なシクラメンは原種です。

The gorgeous cyclamen is popular as a present at this time of the year, but this simple cyclamen is a foundation stock.

紅葉が青空に映えます。

ピンクの山茶花が、イロハモミジの散る前に見頃になりました。

只今、イルミネーション用シャンペンタワーの準備中です。

They are preparing the champagne glasses pyramid for Christmas illumination.

紅葉 autumn color

オールドレンズを使って、紅葉を撮影しました。現代のレンズに比べると、ぼんやりした写りですが、少し幻想的な雰囲気が出るようです。

I shot autumn leaves using old lens. Compared to modern lenses, the result is foggy, but it seems to have slightly a fantastic atmosphere.

どぶろく unrefined sake

どぶろくを飲んでみました。とても酸っぱかったです。
ラベルには、火入れしてあると記載されていますので、この酸味は杜氏が意図した味なのでしょう。(発酵は既に止まっています。)

I tried "Doburoku", unrefined sake. It was a very sour experience.
This sour taste is probably a chief brewer's intended result, because the label said that this bottle have been heated. (Fermentation was already stopped.)

道に迷う got lost

道に迷ったお蔭で、紅葉真っ最中のイロハモミジに出会いました。

I came across colored leaves in full swing of Japanese maple because I lost my way.

吊るし柿 persimmon hunged to dry

路地裏で見つけた光景です。

The scene caught my attention when I walked the back alley.
An astringent persimmon becomes sweet after dried in the sun.

宿場町 old post town

古の宿場町を歩いてみました。

I walked on an old post station.

輝く紅葉 shining colored leaves

モミジが逆光に輝いています。

Japanese maple leaves are shining in backlight.

空がカエデの葉で覆わているようです。
