ジプニー jeepney

ジプニーは、それぞれが走る路線が決まっており、その路線はフロントガラスに表示されています。どこでも乗り降りできます。ただし、降りる場所を見定めることができなければ利用できません。
乗るときには手を上げれば、止まってくれます、降りるときはコインで手すりを打って音で知らせます。
料金は、乗客から乗客へと手渡し運転手まで届けられます。お釣りは、その逆の要領で戻ってきます。混んだ車内ゆえの効率の良いやり方ですが、その一連の作法に、他の乗客との一体感を感じます。
安くて大変便利ですが、ジプニーは安全ではありません。

A route of each jeepney was fixed, and the end point is displayed on the windshield. We can get in or out a jeepney anywhere on the route. But the person who cannot find the place to get out can not use it.
If you raise your hand when you get in, it stops there. When you get out, you make a sound by hitting the handrail with a coin.
The fee is sent to the driver through passengers via hand delivery. The change returns with the reverse manner. It is an efficient way because of the crowded inside of the car, but I feel a sense of unity with other passengers for the manners.
It is cheap and very convenient vehicle, but is not safe.

2014年から、デジタルカメラが機内で使えるようになったので、空の旅も楽しくなりました。でも、窓側の席はあいかわらず窮屈です。

Because a digital camera has been allowed on a flight from 2014, the air travel became fun. But the window seat is tight as ever.

落葉 leaves are falling

次第に葉が落ち、すき間が目につくようになってきました。

Leaves are gradually falling, and it became easy to find interspace.

混在する色 varying colors

一つの葉の中に、混在する色を楽しめるのが、ガマズミの紅葉の特徴です。

It is the characteristic of the colored leaves of viburnum that has many colors in one leaf.

ヌルデ chinese sumac

葉軸に翼があるのがヌルデの最大の特徴であり、容易に見分けることができます。葉軸に翼のある植物はあまり見かけませんが、フユザンショウも翼を持っています。この翼が何の役に立つのか分かりません。
ヌルデの毒は強くはありませんが、私はかぶれ症なので、なるべく触らないように気をつけています。

A Chinese sumac has a wing on its rachis, so it is easy to distinguish it from other plants. I hardly see a plant which has wings on rachis, but a "winged prickly ash" has it. I do not know what this wing is useful for.
The poison of the Chinese sumac is not strong. However, because I easily to be poisoned by a sumac, I have to be careful not to touch it.

ゲンノショウコ geranium thunbergii

花の形を見ると、この植物はアメリフウロのようですが、葉を見るとこの植物は、間違いなくゲンノショウコです。植物の同定は難しいですが、謎解きのような楽しみもあります。でも、花はそんなことに関心なく、そこに咲いています。

Judging from the form of the flower, this plant seems to be the carolina geranium, but the form of the leaf shows that this plant is certainly geranium thunbergii. The identification of the plant is difficult, but there is the pleasure such as the delving into the mysteries. However, the flower is unconcerned about such a thing, and the flower is opening there.

欲しいものがない there is nothing that I want

長年使用してきたカメラが、この写真を最後に使えなくなりました。しばらく前に、落下させてから露出がおかしくなりました。だましだまし使ってきたのですが、とうとうピントも合わなくなりました。
デジタルカメラは市場に沢山あるのですが、購入したくなるような、魅力あるカメラが存在しないのが残念です。

The camera which I used for many years was broken and left these photographs last. A while ago, I dropped my camera, so exposure function became abnormal. I had been using it somehow or other, but I came to not be able to adjust focus also.
There are many digital cameras in a market, but it is a disappointment that there is no attractive camera which I want to purchase.

速贄(はやにえ) prey impaled on twigs

モズが何かをくわえた嘴を、枝の先に何度もこすりつけています。
この光景を、室内から見ていたのですが、しばらくすると、モズは飛び去って行きました。一日経って、そのことを思い出し庭に出てみると、小さなトカゲが枝の先に引っかかっていました。
モズは戻って来て、それを食べる様子もないようです。これは生贄なのでしょうか。
今日は、写真を掲載しません。

A shrike was rubbing its beak against the end of the twig many times. I was watching this scene from living room, after a while the shrike flew away. One day passed and I remembered it, so I went out in the garden. I found that a small lizard had been impaled on the end of the twig.
It does not seem that the shrike returns and eats it. Is this a sacrifice?
I don't post the photograph today.

逆光に浮かび上がる emerged by the backlight

逆光に浮かび上がるモミジの紅葉は格別です。

The colored leaves of a maple emerged powerfully by the backlight. The scenery is particularly favored.

夕暮れの皇帝ダリア emperor dahlia in evening

背が高い皇帝ダリアですが、傾斜地に生えているので水平位置で花を鑑賞することができます。

An emperor dahlia grows tall, but we can appreciate the flowers at a horizontal position because it have grown in a slope ground.

銀杏とモミジの共演 costarring of ginkgo and maple

手前にモミジ、奥が銀杏と重なって、圧巻の紅葉です。

There is a maple in the near side and there is a ginkgo in the rear. They make the best scenery of colored leaves beyond any doubt.

ツタの紅葉 maple leaves turn crimson

どの葉も同じ条件にあるように思われますが、それぞれ紅葉のスピードが異なるのが興味深いところです。

It seems to me that all leaves are in the same condition, but it is interesting that each leaf changes its color in different speed.

雨が沢山降ったせいか、紅葉の色づきがあまり良くなく、葉がどんどん散っていきます。

Because many rain fell this season, the tint of colored leaves is not so good and leaves are scattering more and more.

イノシシの悪戯 mischef of the wild boar

辺り一面を、イノシシが掘り返したあとがあるので、どうやら石仏を倒したのは、イノシシの仕業のようです。イノシシは、鼻で土を掘り返して、草の根やミミズなどを食べます。
倒れた石仏を起こそうとしましたが、重くてびくともしません。次回には、人の手を借りて、元通りにしようと思います。

It looked like the act of the wild boar to have knocked over the stone image of Buddha because there is the trace that a wild boar dug up all around. The wild boar digs up the soil with a nose and eats roots, earthworms and so forth.
I tried to raise the stone image that fell down, but it is heavy and does not move an inch. At the next opportunity, I'll get help from others and restore it.

イヌホウズキ black nightshade

イヌホウズキ、マルバナホロシ、ヒヨドリジョウゴは、どれもナス科の植物で、似た花を咲かせます。花から種を区別するのは難しいですが、ヒヨドリジョウゴだけは、つる性のため区別が容易です。

All "Black nightshade", "Solanum maximowiczii", "Solanum lyratum" are weeds of the nightshade family. And these weeds make a similar flower. It is difficult to classify these plants from the shape of the flower. But only the Solanum lyratum is a climbing plant, so it is easy to distinguish it from others.

薬にもなるそうですが、毒性植物です。

It seems to be used as medicine, but basically is a toxic plant.

アザミの冠毛 thistledown

冠毛は、白くて軽く風情がありますが、黒いトゲトゲした殻が残っているとちょっと興ざめです。殻が写らないように気をつけました。

The white and light thistledowns are tasteful, but remaining black harsh husks spoil it. I was careful so that it did not come out.

桐箪笥 cabinet made of paulownia

昔の日本では、女の子が生まれると、桐の苗木を庭に植えました。そして、娘が結婚する時に、その桐で箪笥をつくり、嫁入り道具として娘に持たせました。そう言われていますが、そんなに早く桐は成長しないと思います。
まあ、何歳で結婚するかにもよりますが・・・

Once upon a time in Japan, when a girl was born her parent planted a nursery tree of paulownia in the garden. And when the daughter married, the parent gave her the cabinet which was made with the paulownia as a marriage furniture. They say so, but I think that a paulownia does not grow up so early.
However, it depends on the age of marriage...

ねじれる幹 crooked trunk

不気味にも曲がりくねる柿の木の幹です。そう言えば、くねって怪獣のような松の木も見たことがあります。

It is the trunk of a persimmon tree which twists up weirdly. By the way, I have seen a twisty pine tree before which was like a monster.

マユミ spindle tree

葉は紅葉して美しいですが、赤い実もとても見栄えします。
木の質は、強くよくしなるので、古くは弓の材料とされ、現在でも将棋の駒がマユミから作られます。

The leaf turns yellow and it is beautiful, and the fruit which becomes red look nice also.
This tree has the nature of strong repulsion, so it was used for the material of a bow in the old days. And the piece of Japanese chess is still made from this tree.

蜂の活動時期 activity time of a bee

日向で草花の撮影中に、スズメバチに威嚇されたので逃げてきたのですが、ここ日陰では、気温が低いためか、クマバチがアザミにとまったまま動きません。そろそろ、蜂の活動も終わるのでしょう。

When I was photographing in a sunny place, I was threatened by a hornet, so I escaped to here. And in the shadow area, I found a motionless carpenter bee. Probably it would be because of low temperature. The activity time of the bee will soon be over.

ウシハコベ myosoten aquaticum

ウシハコベが、草刈りをしたあとの空き地に生えてきました。
花弁が10枚あるように見えますが、本当は5枚しかありません。近づいて見ると、それぞれの花弁が根本で二つに分かれていることが分かります。

Myosoten aquatica is growing in the vacancy after having cut grass.
There seem to be ten pieces of petals, but in fact there are five pieces. If we get a closer observation, we notice that each petal is divided into two at the root.

ツノナス fox head

旅館のロビーに飾ってありました。形の面白さから、キツネやカナリアなど、色々な愛称が付けられています。

It was displayed in the lobby of the inn. Because the form is interesting, it has various pet names including a fox and a canary, etc.

トチノキの葉 leaves of aesculus turbinata

葉柄の先端に手のひらのように広がる大きな葉は、見ごたえがあります。

The big leaf opening like a palm on a tip of a leafstalk is impressive.

青空に向かってすっと伸びる姿に、気品を感じます。

I feel dignity in a figure of this rose that stretches straight towards a blue sky.

ハナミズキの紅葉の始まりです。

It is the beginning of colored leaves of the American dogwood.

バラと日本人形 rose & Japanese doll

このバラの姿に、日本人形をイメージしました。

In the form of this rose I imagined a Japanese doll.

キツネノマゴ justicia procumbens

キツネノマゴは、道端に生える雑草です。その姿は、小さく地味なので、ほとんど見過ごされます。
なぜこの名前がついたのか、定説はないようです。狐の尻尾なら、理解できるのですが。

The Justicia procumbens is a weed growing on the roadside. The figure of the weed is small and plain, so almost people overlook this.
The meaning of the Japanese name is a grandson of the fox. Nobody knows the origin of the name. If the name is fox tail, I can understand it.

マダムバタフライ Mme. Butterfly

マダムバタフライは強香を持つと聞きますが、この株はあまり香りません。

I hear that "Mme. Butterfly" has strong incense, but this stock was not fragrant very much.
