ピントが抜ける to be out of focus
私のカメラのオートフォーカス機能は、私の撮影意図など知る訳もなく、奥の物体にピント合わせたがります。
手前の花を撮りたかったのですが、後ろの花にピントが合ってしまいました。手前の花は、ボケボケです。
My camera's auto-focus function can not read my photography intention, so it tends to adjust its focus on a backing object.
I wanted to take a photo of a flower on this side, but the focus has matched the background. Target flowers on this side became super-bokeh.

ゲンカイツツジの花は、ツツジの中でも単純で原始的な感じがします。原種は、環境庁のレッドリストに準絶滅危惧種として登録されていますが、園芸品種の個体は、数多く存在しています。

フクジュソウ far east amur adonis
フクジュソウには毒があります。新芽はフキノトウに、若葉はヨモギに似ているので、誤って食べないよう注意することが必要です。フクジュソウはキンポウゲ科の植物であり、キンポウゲ科の植物には毒を持つものが多く、あの猛毒のトリカブトもキンポウゲ科の植物です。

カタクリは英名でdogtooth violetです。
ヒトデに見えると思ったことがありますが、言われてみれば、花びらが犬歯のようにも見えます。

美味しいですか is it tasty?
ニワトコの芽を初めて食べました。天ぷらにして食べましたが、味も香りもありません。2時間ほど水につけてアク抜きをしたのが、良くなかったのかも知れません。
ニワトコの食べ過ぎは、体に悪いと聞いていますので、６つだけ食べました。
I ate some buds of elder for the first time. I deep-fried them and ate, but there was neither the taste nor the fragrance. It might not be good that I soaked them in water about two hours to remove harshness before cooking.
I heard that it is bad for health that we eat it too much, so I ate only six buds.

どちらもおろか both are stupid
「桜伐（き）る馬鹿、梅伐らぬ馬鹿」と言うことわざがあります。
梅は枝を切らないと、枝がはびこりますが、桜の枝をむやみに切ると枯れるからです。

つるし雛 hanging doll decoration
3月3日のひな祭りには、雛人形を飾り、女児の健やかな成長を願います。
本来、雛人形は一式の人形を段状に飾るものですが、江戸時代のころからつるし雛が作られるようになりました。段飾りは高価なため、一般の家庭では、家族や近所の人たちで、小さな人形を作り持ち寄って、それをつるし、生まれてきた女児の幸せを願いました。これがつるし雛の起源と聞きます。
People display a set of Japanese Hina doll on the Doll's Festival in March 3. And they pray for the healthy growth of female infant.
Intrinsically, the doll is displayed on tiers, but the common people have begun to hang small dolls with a string in the Edo era. A set of the dolls displayed on tiers is expensive. So, at ordinary homes, family and neighbors made small dolls together and string them and prayed for the happiness of a born girl. I heard this is the origin of the hanging dolls.

池の畔のこのネコヤナギ、冬に大きく伐採されましたが、順調に花が咲きました。

柱にスリット pillar with slit
柱に、雨戸が通り抜けるスリットが設けられていました。このような構造を見るのは初めてです。
そう言えば、東大寺の大仏殿のくぐり穴がある柱を思い出しました。

I remembered that the Hall of the Great Buddha of Todai-ji Temple in Nara Prefecture has a special pillar, and there is a small hole in it. Many tourists challenge to pass through the hole with difficulty. If the person who can pass through the hole, the person will spend healthy hereafter.

スイセン属 narcissus genus
スイセンの花を見ると、やっと春が来たと思います。
意外なことに、スイセンはヒガンバナ科の植物です。ヒガンバナと同様にアルカロイドという毒を含んでいます。花が咲く前に、葉をニラと間違えて食べる人が、毎年いると聞きます。

ヤマブキの実 fruit of kerria
この黒い実は、多分一重咲きのヤマブキの実です。
八重咲きのヤマブキは、雄しべが花弁に変化し、雌しべは退化しているので、実が生りません。

ツバキが散るときは、花弁が個々に散るのではなく、花全体が丸ごと落ちるので、多くの花が一斉に散る様は壮観です。
