メキシカンブッシュセージ Salvia leucantha

　花に細かい軟毛がたくさん生えていて、まるでベルベットで作られたように見えます。

川原のススキ Japanese silver grass

　オギとススキはよく似ているので、遠くから区別するのは難しいです。

　これはオギだと思いますが、ススキとよんだほうが風情が感じられます。

　Amur silver glasses, "Ogi", and Japanese silver grasses, "Susuki" are very similar, so it is difficult to distinguish them from a distance. 

　I think these were "Ogi", but it feels more tasteful to call them as "Susuki". Japanese people are especially nostalgic for "Susuki".

ヒューケラ coralbells

　ヒューケラの葉は、色とりどりで、花がなくても人の心を、癒してくれます。

　The leaves of coralbells are colorful, so they heal people's hearts even without flowers.

石竹(セキチク) China pink

　セキチクとナデシコの花はよく似ています。この花は、花弁の切れ込みが浅く、色が濃いのでセキチクだと思います。

　The flowers of China pink and Dianthus are similar. I think this flower is China pink because the petals have shallow cuts and the color is deep.

姫蔓蕎麦(ヒメツルソバ) pink knotweed

　ヒメツルソバは石垣にへばりついて咲く、という印象を持っていましたが、ここでは地面を這うように広がっていました。

　I had the image that pink knotweed cling to the stone wall and blooms, but here it has spread like crawling on the ground.

ストレプトカーパス Streptocarpus

　暑さ寒さ、さらに植え替えにも弱く、育てるのは難しいそうです。

　It is difficult to raise Streptocarpus because it is vulnerable to heat, cold and transplanting.

見せばや(ミセバヤ) Siebold's stonecrop

　ミセバヤのふっくらした葉が赤くなり始めました。この頃が色が多くて最も趣があります。「ミセバヤ」の名前の由来は、「見せたい」だそうです。納得です。

　The plump leaves of Siebold's stonecrop began to turn red. It has many colors in this period and is the most tasteful. The name of this plant is "Misebaya" in Japanese. The name "Misebaya" originated as "I want to show it". It made sense to me.
