芽鱗(がりん) bud scale

　赤色の鞘は、冬芽を包みそれを守っていたモミジの芽鱗です。芽鱗は、新芽と一緒に伸びますが、やがては役割を終え散ります。

　The red parts are bud scales of maple tree that have wrapped and protected the winter buds. They grow with the winter buds, but after a while finish their role and fall off.

ネモフィラ baby blue eyes

　和名は、瑠璃唐草(ルリカラクサ)という良い名前です。

　Nemophila is called "Ruri-karakusa" in Japanese. "Ruri" color is a bright blue with a purple tinge, and is considered sacred in Buddhism. "Karakusa" is a plant. I think the name is also attractive.

ムスカリ grape hyacinth

　ムスカリとハナニラが、並んで咲いているのをたまに見かけます。

　Occasionally I see grape hyacinths and spring stars blooming side by side.

チューリップ tulip

　チューリップの種類は、五千を超える数があります。種から育てると、花を咲かせるまで５年もかかり、その期間は毎年球根の植え付けと掘取りを繰り返すそうです。

　There are over five thousand varieties of tulips. It takes five years to bloom from a seed. During this period, planting the bulbs and digging them are repeated every year.

蒲公英(タンポポ) dandelion

　タンポポの英語名の意味は、ライオンの歯です。ギザギザの葉に由来した名前です。

　The English name for dandelions stands for lion's teeth. The name comes from the serrate leaves.

錨草(イカリソウ) fairy wings

　花びらの付け根から、四方にのびる距(キョ)が独特の花の形を作っています。距は、袋状になっていて、中には蜜腺があるそうです。

　The spurs (botanical term) extending to four directions from the base of the petals creates a unique flower shape. The spur is a hollow structure and has nectary inside.

福寿草(フクジュソウ) Adonis ramosa

　見頃を過ぎた福寿草は、葉をたくさん茂らせています。左上に、茎の先端に突起のある球体が見えます。多分、花柄だと思います。

　The best season to see the flowers of Adonis ramosa have passed. They have a lot of leaves now. In the upper left, you can see a sphere with protrusions on the tip of the stem. I think they are flower husks.
