美女桜(ビジョザクラ) garden verbena

　名前に桜が付く植物は多くあります。日本人の心には、桜が深く刻まれているからだと思います。

花虎ノ尾(ハナトラノオ) Physostegia virginiana

　我が家では、紫蘇が毎年自然に生えてきます。それはよいのですが、沢山増え過ぎるので、間引きが必要になります。
　この写真のハナトラノオもシソ科の植物なので、同様に丈夫でよく育って増えます。花穂には、四方に向かって花が上下方向に並んで沢山咲きます。八方美人ならぬ四方美人ですね。

　スミレに似たトレニアの花が、たくさん咲いています。夏の花ですが、12月まで咲くこともあると聞きました。

踊るツル dancing vine

　この滑稽にくねる、つるらしきものは何でしょう。写真の左上には、白い糸が絡み合ったようなものが見えます。マンサクの花に似ています。

　What is this vine-like object that comically writhes? In the upper left of the photo, you can see a something looking like the white threads intertwine, which resembles the flower of Japanese witch hazel.

稲穂 ears of rice

　実るほど頭を垂れる稲穂かな
　稲穂が風になびき、守る凧が宙を舞っています。

土稲子(ツチイナゴ) Patanga japonica

　体長5cmくらいの大きなツチイナゴです。近寄っても逃げることもなく草をたべていました。

黄花秋桜(キバナコスモス) yellow cosmos

　キバナコスモスはコスモス属の一種ですが、その葉はコスモスとは異なります。コスモスの葉は糸状ですが、キバナコスモスの葉は菊の葉に似てギザギザしています。

　キバナコスモスに似た花にオオキンケイギクがあります。オオキンケイギクは、特定外来生物法により栽培などが禁止されており、個人が野外に植えると、懲役３年以下または300万円以下の罰金が科せられます。うっかり間違えると大変ですね。両者を見分ける方法は、葉を見ることです。オオキンケイギクの葉は、ギザギザがなく細長い形をしています。
