天窓にカラス crow at skylight
騒がしいので廊下に出てみると、天窓の上で2匹のカラスが暴れていました。下から棒でつついても、逃げません。
しばらく前のことですが、天窓のガラスに、ゴルフボール大の石を、落として遊ぶカラスがいました。この時も、追い払おうとしてもなかなか逃げません。大きなうさぎのぬいぐるみの顔を、下からガラスに押し付けると、やっとカラスは逃げて行きました。でも、石は、ガラスの上に残ったままでした。しばらくすると、石はなくなっていたので、多分カラスが取りに戻ったのだと思います。愛着のある石だったのでしょう。
頭のよいカラスは、鳴き声の数でお互いに意思を伝え合うそうです。確か4回の鳴き声が危険を意味すると記憶しています。追い払うにはスピーカーでこの鳴き声を流すのが効果的かも知れません。
When I went out of the room because the outside was noisy, I found that two crows are playing on the skylight of the corridor. I nudged the underside of the glass with a stick but they didn't fly away.
A few years ago, there was the crow which dropped a stone of the size same as a golf ball to the glass of a skylight. It was difficult for me to send them away at that time. When I pushed the face of the big stuffed toy rabbit to the glass from the backside, the crow flew away at last. But the stone was left on the glass. The stone disappeared after a short time. Probably I think that the crow returned to take it. For the crow, it would be a stone with an emotional attachment.
The bright crow seems to communicate with the number of cries each other. I remember that four times of cries of a crow probably mean danger. I think that it is effective to broadcast this cry with a speaker to send away crows.

ハンド ハート Hand Heart

ゼラニューム geranium
薔薇に似た良い香りのゼラニュームがあるそうですが、まだ芳香のゼラニュームにであったことがありません。花を楽しむためと、香りを楽しむゼラニュームは、種類が異なると聞きました。
名前にウムがつくと金属の名前のようです。そういえば、我が家のゼラニュームも金属臭がします。
I have heard there is the geranium of a good fragrance like a rose, but I have not yet come across the geranium of the sweet smell. The person who has a detailed knowledge of geranium said to me that a geranium for enjoying aroma and a geranium for enjoying flower are different kind.
When the last of the name includes "-um", it is like the metal name. By the way, the geranium of my home smells like metallic.

ファーストグリーン first green (hydrangea)
珍しいアジサイが咲いていました。花びら（装飾花）に少し緑色が入っています。これからどんどん緑色に変わるという人が居る一方、最初はもっと緑色だったという人がいます。
名前から類推すると、初めが緑色のような気がしますが、しばらく様子を見ることにします。

Judging from the name, I suppose that the beginning is more green. But I will look over this situation for a while.

四季咲き ever-flowering
"四季咲き"とは、日本語で春、夏、秋、冬の四季に咲くという意味です。この薔薇は、四季咲きですが、冬には咲きません。そのことがずっと前から気になっていましたが、ある人の説明を聞き、やっと納得することができました。
「四季咲きと言っても、四季に咲くという意味ではありません。花の咲く条件が整えば、いつでも咲くということです。」
そういうことでしたか。"四季咲き"を和英辞典で調べると、"perpetual（現象が長く続く）","ever-flowering（常に咲いている）"と定義されていました。なるほど、英語の方が理にかなっていると思います。
"四季咲き" means that the flower blooms in four seasons: in the spring, summer, autumn, winter. This is a rose of "四季咲き", but does not bloom in winter. I have been curious about that for a long time. But the person who is familiar with a rose explained to me the meaning, so I was able to understand that at last.
It does not mean to bloom in the four seasons, nevertheless it is called "四季咲き". That thing is that if the condition of the blooming is set, the flower blooms anytime. I see.
It was defined as "perpetual","ever-flowering" when I checked "四季咲きl" with a Japanese-English dictionary. I think English is more logical.

アゲハチョウの幼虫 swallowtail worm
目のような部分は、外敵を威嚇するための眼状紋です。私には、威嚇というよりは、愛嬌があるようにみえます。突っつくと、肉角と呼ばれる黄色いツノを出し、そこからミカン臭を発します。食欲は旺盛で、我が家のサンショは丸裸にされてしまいます。
The part such as eyes is eyes-spot (crest) to threaten a natural enemy. It seems lovely rather than intimidation for me. When I nudge the worm, it puts out a yellow horn and gives off smell like an orange from it. It has a vast appetite, so it eats up all leaves of my Japanese pepper tree.
