山の神 Yama-no-Kami

林道を進むと、山の神が祀られていました。山の神は、山を支配して守るという、勇壮なイメージを持ちますが、女性神だそうです。
自分の妻のことを、山の神と呼ぶ男性もいますが、お行儀の悪い表現だと思います。

When I walked along a forest road, I found the place where Yama-no-Kami (deity of the mountain) had been worshiped for a long time. It is a heroic image that the Yama-no-Kami rules over the mountain and keeps it, but the deity is female.
There is the man who calls his wife a Yama-no-Kami, but I think it is ill-mannered expression.

竹やぶ bamboo grove

子供の頃、地震がきたら竹やぶに逃げろと、云われていました。丈夫な竹の根が地盤を強化しているのでしょう。
ここ東京では、直下型地震がいつきてもおかしくないそうですが、もう家の近くには、竹やぶがありません。

In my childhood, they said we should run away to the bamboo grove when an earthquake has occurred.
The reason is because a root of the bamboo has reinforced the ground.
It is said that a large-scale inland earthquake seems to be come soon here in Tokyo. But there is already no bamboo grove near my house.

カシワバアジサイ hydrangea quercifolia

カシワバアジサイの若葉は、どことなく動物的な表情をしています。また、秋には紅葉を楽しめるアジサイです。

The young leaves of Hydrangea quercifolia have animal aspect in some way. And when autumn arrives, we can enjoy colored leaves of it.

赤紫色の世界 magenta world

ミツバツツジの茂みに分け入りました。
幻想的な世界ですが、足元は石がゴロゴロと、歩きにくい傾斜地でした。

I made my way into bush of the Rhododendron dilatatum.
There was the fantastic world, but the place was a slope ground, and there were a lot of small rocks, so it was hard to walk.

アケビ akebia

朝日を背にして

丸鋸刃 circular saw blade

花びらの端がギザギザした椿の花を見つけました。多分、蕾の時に虫にかじられたのでしょう。

I found a flower of a camellia which had jagged petals. When it was a bud, it is thought that the insect gnawed it.

一人静 chloranthus japonicus

白い花に見えるのは雄しべで、この花には花弁はありません。なんだか花というより、ブラシのように見えます。

It is a stamen to look like a white flower, and this flower does not have the petal. Somehow I look like a brush rather than a flower.
