カナメモチ Japanese photinia

生け垣によく利用される木です。常に剪定されているので、花が咲いているのをあまり見かけることはありません。

Japanese photinia is often used as hedges. As it is always pruned, we rarely see its flowers.

天守閣跡 castele ruins

ここはその昔、甲冑をつけた侍が音をたてて歩いていた所かもしれません。

Once upon a time here might be the place where armed samurais had walked around with noise.

オニグルミの雄花序 male inflorescence of Japanese walnut

雄花の長さは15cm位あり、軽く引っ張ると、枝からポロッと取れました。

The length of male flowers were around 15 cm. When I pulled one of them lightly, it separated from the twig.

ホオノキ Japanese Bigleaf Magnolia

この木は、タイサンボクかも知れません。花は芳香を持つと言われますが、高いとことに咲いているので、その香りを嗅ぐことはできませんでした。

This tree might be a Magnolia grandiflora. It is said that this flower has a sweet smell, but I could not take a sniff of the fragrance because the flower bloomed in the high position.

エリカ erica

目玉の付いた小粒がびっしり集まると、なんだかカエルの卵のように見えます。

When the small ball which has a dot like an eyeball gathered together, they look like frog eggs.

シモクレン magnolia

ハクモクレンに遅れて、シモクレンが咲きました。空の青さに紫色が映えます。

After a yulan, a magnolia has bloomed. Purple stands out in the blue sky.

スノーフレーク summer snowflake

分類上ではヒガンバナ科の植物ですが、彼岸花の花とは似ても似つかないです。

It is a cluster amaryllis family on the classification, but the flower is totally different from a cluster amaryllis.
