ヤマコウバシ Lindera glauca
葉が枯れても散らない珍しい木です。枯れ葉の間には冬芽が育っています。
葉が散らないといっても、落葉広葉樹の枯れ葉ですから、春には落葉します。

烏梅（うばい）smoky Prunus mume
梅は、薬の木として中国から日本へ伝わり、その後品種改良され花木として、人気を集めています。
燻製にした青梅は、色が黒いので烏梅と呼ばれ、解熱作用を持つと言われていましたが、今では用いられることはありません。
梅の原産地は、中国の湖北省だと言われています。現在、そこから各地へ新型コロナウイルスによる肺炎 (COVID-19)が拡散していますが、早く終息して欲しいものです。

冬に咲く桜 cherry tree blooming in winter
これは、秋から冬と、春との二度に分けて小輪の花を咲かせる"シキザクラ"です。他にも、冬に咲く桜は、10月に咲き始める"ジュウガツザクラ"があります。どちらも、ソメイヨシノに比べると随分控えめに咲きます。
