雪の下(ユキノシタ) strawberry geranium
以前、ユキノシタを庭に植えたのですが、雑草と間違えられて抜かれてしまいました。名札を立てておかないといけませんね。

八重咲きドクダミ double-flowered Houttuynia cordata
廃屋の日当たりの悪い玄関先に、八重咲きドクダミが咲いていました。
花弁に見える白い部分は実は葉で、シベに見える先端の黄色い部分が花です。ちょっと意外ですね。
A double-flowered Houttuynia cordata was blooming at the entrance where the sun did not shine of the abandoned house.
The white things that look like petals are leaves actually, and yellow parts of the tip that look like stamen are flowers. It is slightly surprising.
こちらは普通に見られるドクダミです。白い葉の数は、普通は4枚ですがこれには6枚あります。

立葵 (タチアオイ) hollyhock
花に近づいて見ると、雄しべが花弁化しているのが分かります。萼や葉も花弁化する植物も見られますが、なぜだかわかりません。昆虫をより引き付けるためなのでしょうか。

1918年に始まったスペイン風邪は、1年のスパンに、3回の流行の波が見られました。新型コロナウイルスへの対策もこれからが本番だと心得ましょう。
ニューヨークから届いた一枚の写真です。写真を送ってくれた彼女は、近くの学校で無料の食事の配給を受けています。IDなど不要で、毎朝並べば、だれでも食事を受け取れます。日本では、申請は何をやるにも手続きが大変です。持続化給付金のオンライン申請のお手伝いをしましたが、多くの方にはとても分かりにくい内容です。

さくらんぼ cherry
ソメイヨシノの並木に、実を結すんだ木が何本かありました。食べてみましたが、不味い味です。
ソメイヨシノは花を見るのを楽しむ木で、実を食べる木ではありません。

ムラサキツユクサ tradescantia
久しぶりに見るムラサキツユクサです。こんなに花が大きかたかな。
