アナベル Annabelle hydrangea

　昨日投稿したヘイズスターバースト hayes starburstの一重咲き版です。

　広い場所がアナベルで埋め尽くされる光景は圧巻です（写真とは異なります）。

　This is the single-flowered version of Hayes starburst hydrangea posted yesterday.

　The view of a large area full of Annabel is wonderful (different to this photo).

ヘイズスターバースト hayes starburst

　ヘイズスターバーストは、アナベルの八重咲き品種ですが、アナベルに比べるとあまり見る機会はありません。

　ふわふわとボリュームのある花房は、シロップのかかっていないかき氷のようにも見えます。

　Haze Starburst is a double-flowered variety from Annabelle hydrangea, but not as well known as Annabel here.

　The fluffy and voluminous inflorescences look like shaved ice, or a snow cone, with no syrup.

黄色いゆり yellow lily

　朱色から黄色へのグラデーションが美しいユリです。

　A lily with a beautiful gradation from vermilion to yellow.

ホワイトエンジェル hydrangea white-angel

　ホワイトエンジェルはガクアジサイです。中央の小さな両性花の集まりに周りに、長い花柄の先に八重咲きの装飾花が数少なくついています。その姿は、線香花火が火花を散らす光景を連想させます。

　White Angel is lacecap Hydrangea. Around the gathering of small hermaphrodite flowers in the center, there are small amount double-flowered ornamental flower at the tip of a long flower stalk. Its appearance reminds me of  the sight of sparkling firework.

石榴(ザクロ) pomegranate

　厚くてかたい萼から、薄くて柔らかい花弁がせり出ていました。八重ザクロには実がつかないと言われています。多くのおしべが花弁に変化しているからだそうです。でも、中を見ると、花の奥にはたくさんの雄しべがひしめいていました。

　Thin and soft petals have emerged out from the thick and hard calyx. It is said that double-petaled pomegranate does not bear fruit. This is because many stamens have turned petals. But when I looked inside, there were a lot of stamens at the bottom of the flower.

　名前が記号の植物はめずらしいです。なんだか、遺伝子工学で作り出された感じがします。

　I think the plants whose names are alphanumeric are rare. I wonder as if it have been created by genetic engineering.

アジサイ タウベ Hydrangea Taube

　タウベはガクアジサイです。ガクアジサイは、英語でレースキャップというそうですが、このレースという意味はテキスタイルtextileのレースのことなのでしょうか。

　Taube is a lace-cap hydrangea. I wonder if the meaning of this lace in lace-cap mean textile lace.
