ハイビスカス hibiscus

　7月31日に投稿したモミジアオイと、ハイビスカスの花はよく似ています。比べると、ハイビスカスの花びらの基部は重なり合っています。

　The flowers of Scarlet rosemallow posted on July 31 are very similar to its of hibiscus. Comparing these two,  the base of the petal of hibiscus overlaps each other.

長寿と老化は無関係 no relation between longevity and aging

　切り花を長持ちさせる研究が進んでいます。ある程度は長持ちするようになりましたが、色の変化を止める方法はまだ見つかりません。つまり、長寿を実現できても、老化はおかまいなしに進みます。

　文と写真の関係はありません。

　The research is underway to make cut flowers last longer. It has become long-lasting to some extent, but they hadn't found a way to stop the color change yet. In other words, even if they can achieve longevity, aging will proceed without regard to it.

　There is no relation between the sentence and the photograph.

百日草 zinnia

栗の実 chestnut fruit

　栗の実の棘はなんのためにあるのでしょう。変な虫がつかないためなのでしょうか。

　What are chestnut spines for? I wonder if it's because pests don't stick it.

百合(ユリ) lily

　ユリは、多年生宿根草です。数年前にここに訪れたときは、もっと濃い赤色で咲いていました。

　A lily is perennial plant. When I visited here a few years ago, it was blooming in a deeper red color.

紅蜀葵(モミジアオイ) scarlet rosemallow

　この花は、ハイビスカスによく似ていますが、葉弁の根本が細いのでモミジアオイですね。葉の形は、モミジに似ています。

　This flower is very similar to hibiscus, but it is scarlet rosemallow because the base of the petals is narrower than hibiscus. The shape of the leaves resembles the shape of a maple.

アカツメクサ red clover

　アカツメクサの原産地はヨーロッパ です。日本には牧草としてつたわりました。今では、野生化して日本の各地で見ることができます。

　It is native to Europe and was brought to Japan as a pasture. Nowadays it is wild and can be seen throughout Japan.

ブルーカール trichostema dichotomum

　ブルーカールは、長くてカールした雄しべに特徴があります。この写真では、ちょっと見にくいですね。

　このシソ科の植物は、米国中西部と東部、カナダ東部、およびバハマに分布しており、日本ではあまり見かることはありません。

　Trichostema dichotomum are characterized by long-curled stamens. It's a bit difficult to see in this photo.

　It is a flowering plant in the mint family found in the Midwestern and Eastern United States, Eastern Canada, and the Bahamas. It is hardly seen in Japan.
