クリスマスローズ hellebore

クリスマスローズの分類には混乱があます。日本でクリスマスローズというと、ヨーロッパでは、ヘレボルス全体を指します。

There is confusion in classification of Christmas rose. Christmas rose in Japan means the whole of hellebore in Europe.

梅の開花 anthesis of Japanese apricot

開花が遅れています。天気予報ではこれから急に暖かくなるので、一気に咲くことでしょう。

Flowering has been late. According to the weather forecast, it will become warm quickly. So the flower of Japanese apricot will bloom all together.

トチノキの冬芽 winter bud of horse chestnut

トチノキの赤い冬芽は、見るからにネバネバしています。触りたかったのですが、高くて手が届きません。

The red winter bud of the horse chestnut looks sticky. I wanted to touch it, but cannot reach it because it is at the high position.

クロッカス crocus

花は地面すれすれに咲くので、雨のはねた泥がついた花が多くありました。

Because the flower blooms near the ground, there were many flowers with the mud that rain splashed.

ユキワリイチゲ anemone keiskeana

花弁に見えるのは萼片で、少し紫色がかっています。葉もくすんだ緑色をしており、ユキワリイチゲは控えめに咲いていました。

These were sepals to look like petals and were slightly purple, and the leaves were dusty green.
The Anemone keiskeana bloomed modestly.

セツブンソウ eranthis pinnatifida

セツブンソウは、日本原産の植物です。可憐な花は人気もあり、乱獲や自生地の環境破壊により、環境省のレッドリストには、準絶滅危惧（ＮＴ）として登録されています。

It is an indigenous plant of Japan. The pretty flower is popular.
By indiscriminate hunting and destruction of the environment, it is designated as a near-threatened species on the red list of the Ministry of the Environment.

枯れたコウヤボウキ dead pertya scandens

この道は、コウヤボウキの枯れた花が、まだ沢山残っていました。花の咲く9月頃にまた来ようと思います。

There were many dead pertya scandens still remain on this path.
I will come again next about September when this flower bloom.

ニワトコ Japanese red elder

ニワトコの枝を止まり木に使うと、小鳥が病気にならないと言われています。
芽は天ぷらにすると美味しいそうです。忘れなければ、来月くらいに、やってみようと思います。

They say that if we use this branch of a Japanese red elder for a perch, a small bird will not get sick.
If we deep-fry this bud, it seems to be delicious. I intend to try it around next month if I do not forget it.

アオキ Japanese aucuba

アオキの枝は頼りないのですが、鬱陶しいほどよく茂ります。傷が付いた部分は真っ黒になります。赤い実は印象的ですが、この木は庭木には向かないと思います。

The branches of the Japanese aucuba are unreliable, but these branches  grow thick and get on my nerves. The damaged part becomes jet black. The red fruits are impressive, but I think that this tree is not suitable for a garden tree.

テイカカズラの種 seed of a star jasmine

近くにテイカカズラの木がないので、この種はかなりの距離を飛んできたのでしょう。

There was not a tree of star jasmine there, so I think this seed maybe took a long flying.

紫陽花の冬芽と葉痕 winter bud and cicatrice of hydrangea

対称形が、動物の顔に見えることはよくあります。これは、パレイドリア現象と呼ばれる、心理現象の一種だそうです。

It is a common thing that the symmetric forms look like faces of animals. I hear this is a kind of the psychological phenomenon called the pareidolia.

紅白梅 red and white plum blossoms

梅が咲き始めました。梅は、桜と異なり長く咲くので、しばらく楽しめます。

Japanese plum trees begin blooming. Japanese plum tree blooms for a longer period than a cherry tree, so we can enjoy it for a while.

230階段 230steps

数える度に段数が異なるので、もう数えるは止めました。
奥様と思われる人に支えられて、ここでリハビリをしている方がおられました。 声援をおくりたいけれど、会釈するだけですれ違いました。

Whenever I count the number of steps, the results are different. So I stopped it any more.
I met a man who was undergoing rehabilitation here supported by a woman who seemed his wife. Though I wanted to cheer the couple, I only nodded and passed them.

ソシンロウバイ winter sweet

冬の花の少ない時期に咲き、香りもよく比較的長く咲き続けるので、珍重されています。花びらの蝋細工のような質感にも特徴があります。

Because it blooms ahead of other flowers in winter, and has good fragrance, and is blooming relatively long, it is prized.
The feeling of the petal like the wax is characteristic.

ミツマタ oriental paperbush

来月には、黄色い花を咲かせることでしょう。背景には、まだ雪が残っています。

In the next month, this oriental paper bush makes a yellow flower bloom. Snow is still left in the background.

カワラタケ coriolus versicolor

切り倒された木の幹にカワラタケが生えていました。蝶々が止まっているようにも見えます。美しいようでもあり、気持ちが悪いようでもあり。

カワラタケは、キノコの一種です。カワラタケの抽出物は、がんの治療に使われます。それは、免疫系の機能を向上させ、一部の腫瘍細胞の増殖を遅らせ、化学療法や放射線療法の副作用を軽減する可能性があるとされています。

Coriolus versicolor grew on the tree trunk cut down. It seems that butterflies are stopping on the fallen tree. It is not only beautiful but also creepy.

A coriolus versicolor is a type of mushroom. The extract of corioulus versicolor is used to treat cancer. It is said that it may boost the immune system, slow the growth of some tumor cells, and lessen the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

ゲンカイツツジ Rhododendron mucronulatum

冬芽は、夏の終わりから形成され、休眠と越冬により、準備万端で春を待ちます。
私もこのような心構えで、事にあたりたいと思います。

A winter bud is formed from a summer end and, by dormancy and wintering, waits for spring. Everything was all perfectly arranged.
I want to deal with everything with such a mental attitude, too.
