トリノフンダマシ Cyrtarachne

この生き物は、蜘蛛です。よく知られた種ですが、蜘蛛研究者でない私たちは、ほとんど見かけることはありません。
姿が鳥の糞に見えるのでトリノフンダマシと呼ばれます。鳥の糞に擬態することで、捕食者から身を守っています。
似ているとはいえ、不名誉な名前を付けられたと思います。

This creature is a spider. It is a well known kind, but we who are not a spider researcher hardly see it.
Because the exterior looks like the feces of birds, it was named "torinofundamashi" in Japanese. The first part, torinofun, means the feces of birds. The last part, damashi, means trick.
They protect themselves from the predator by making mimesis to the feces of the bird.
Though resembling, they got an honor-less name.

オシロイバナ four-o'clock

オシロイバナを見ると、子供の頃に友達と自然の中で遊んだことを思い出します。
花をつまみ取り蜜を吸うと、わずかに甘い味がしました。

Wherever I see a four-o'clock, I remember that I played in nature with my friend in my childhood. Picking the flowers, we sucked its nectar. It tasted slightly sweet.

飛行重量制限 Weight limit of flight

飛行に重量制限があるのは知っていましたが、軽飛行機では、とてもシビアに管理する必要があることを知りました。飛行の都度、パイロットは、燃料や乗客とその荷物などの総重量を考慮して、飛び上がれるか判断しなければなりません。許容範囲が少ないということです。

夏の山岳ドライブへと、非力の軽自動車に大勢で乗り込み、エアコンを効かせていたら、途中で走らなくなった経験があります。地面の上だから気楽なものです。

I knew that there was weight limit of flight. But I did not know there was such a severe limit especially for light airplane. Before each flight, the pilot must determine whether the plane can fly up in consideration of gross weight of fuel and a passenger and the baggage etc.. It means that there is little clearance.

When I went to mountain in summer by powerless kei car which took on many people and let the air conditioner work, I experienced that the car did not go up on the way. We are carefree as far as we are on the ground.

蓮 Lotus

蓮の実は生食できるそうですが、まだ食べたことはありません。

The seed of the lotus seem to be able to eat raw, but I have not eaten it yet.

アントノフ2 An-2

やっとのことでエンジンがかかり、不整地の草原をなんとか舞い上がり、喝采の拍手で送られました。広大な草原だから似合う風景です。
これは、2年前のあるフライトフェスティバルで撮影した写真です。

調布飛行場で、軽飛行機が離陸に失敗し、住民を巻き込む惨事となりました。
犠牲者のご冥福をお祈りします。

Engine started at long last, and the plane was able to take off somehow from the non-leveling grassland. The audience applauded. It is the scene in accord with the very large grassy plain.
This is the photograph which I took at a flight festival in Europe two years ago.

In Chofu airport, a light airplane failed in a takeoff and became the tragic incident to involve inhabitants.
I'd like to express my deepest sympathy to all those who passed away.
