ミツマタ oriental paperbush

脳から出た三叉神経は、三つに枝別れします。最初の枝は、おでこへ、次の枝はほおへ、最後の枝は下あごへ伸びています。
親知らずを抜いてしばらく経ちますが、この最後の枝に傷がついてしまったようです。

The trifacial nerve from the brain branches into three directions. The first branch extends to the forehead, the next branch to the cheek, and the last branch to the lower jaw.
I had my wisdom tooth pulled out the other day. This last branch seems to have been damaged in this surgery.

The tip of the branch is divided into three without exception.

インターナショナルオレンジ international orange

赤に近い鮮やかな朱色は、人の目をひきつけます。東京タワーの塗装にも使われる色です。

The vivid vermilion which is close to red attracts our eyes. This color is also used to paint Tokyo Tower.

アジサイの冬芽は愉快です。

Winter buds of the hydrangea are hilarious.

アカシデ Carpinus laxiflora

垂れさがる細い枝が珍しく印象に残りましたが、枝ではなく花序軸だと教えていただきました。

These hanging thin branches were unusual, so they remained in my  impression, but someone told me that these were inflorescences axis, not branches.

草木染め vegetable dyeing

梅の枝で草木染めができると聞いたことがあります。
この木は東錦という名前の梅です。きれいな朱色の発色が期待できそうですが、枝を折ることはできません。

I have heard that vegetable dyeing with the use of Japanese plum branch is possible.
This tree is a Japanese plum named "Azuma Nishiki". Although we can expect beautiful vermillion coloring, but we cannot fold it.

仏敵から寺を守る勇ましい仁王様は、檻の中で保護されています。

Brave guardian, "Nio or Kongorikishi", of the temple is protected in a cage.
A pair of wrathful and muscular guardians are set at the entrance of many Buddhist temples.
