青みが強くなる to turn stlongly blue

この鮮やかな赤紫色を、デジカメで再現するのは難しいです。青色を抑えて現像したのですが、やはり不自然です。完璧なものは、ありませんから不完全を楽しんでいます。人間もまたしかり。

This bright reddish purple is a difficult color to reproduce with a digital camera. I reduced the blue, but still unnatural. There is nothing perfect in this world, so I enjoy the imperfections. That is true of human beings.

ブーゲンビリア Bougainvillea

ワタチョロギ lamb's-ear

和名の意味はよく分かりませんが、英名は直截的で分かりやすいです。これは、ウサギの耳にも似た、子羊の耳です。

I do not know the meaning of the Japanese name, but the English name is straightforward and easy to understand. It is a lamb's ear, and similar to a rabbit's ear also.

チャノキ tea plant

この地域では、隣地との境に、チャノキを植える習わしがあったそうです。そのためここには、チャノキがあちらこちらに残っています。
葉がよく茂るし、剪定にも耐えるので、境界の目印に使われたのでしょう。
放置されたチャノキには、ススメバチが内部に巣を作ることもあるので、注意が必要です。
そうそう、お茶の葉を揚げ物にすると、味も癖もないですが、お酒のおつまみになります。

In this area, it is said that there was a custom to plant tea as a border. Therefore, some teas have remained here and there.
It grows thick leaves and withstands deep pruning, so I suppose that the people chose tea as a mark on the border.
Hornets tend to make a nest inside of the abandoned tea, so we should be careful.
I just remembered that fried tea leaves have neither taste nor harshness, but they serve as snacks for Japanese sake.

キョウチクトウ Oleander

扇風機の羽のような形の花びらは、風が吹くと回転しそうです。
原爆のあと、広島で最初に咲いた花がキョウチクトウなので、復興のシンボルですが、猛毒を持つので注意が必要です。

The petal shaped like fan wing, so the flower is likely to rotate when the wind blows.
It was first bloomed after the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. It is a symbol of reconstruction, but we need to be careful because it has strong poison.

ホオノキの実 fruit of magnolia obovata

ホオノキの実は、今は黄色ですが、やがて綺麗な赤色に変わり、その後、赤い種が中からはみ出した、不気味な黒い塊になります。生き物の宿命ですね。

The fruit of magnolia obovata is yellow now, but it turns into live red, and then it falls to the ground as a black weird body with red seeds coming out from the inside. It is the fate of a creature.

成長速度と真直度 growth speed vs. straightness

成長速度が早いとまっすぐ育つようです。これとは別に、孫生え（ひこばえ）を見たときは、そのように思います。植物の話です。

I suppose it grows straight if the growth speed is high. Apart from this, when I see basal shoots, I always think so. It's my comment about green things.

イミテーションの花びら imitation petal

ヤブツバキの下に沢山の鮮やかな花びらが落ちています。今頃、そんなはずはないと近づくと、それは、布を染めたイミテーションの花びらでした。何のために使われたのでしょう。何か楽しい企画があったのでしょう。

Lots of bright petals were lying down under a Camellia japonica. Thinking such a thing couldn't be now, I approached the tree. It was an imitation of petal made of dyed cloth. What were these things used for? I supposed there had been something fun project.
