笹 sasa

こんなに元気よく伸びてくる笹を見るのは初めてです。

竹は英語で bamoo ですが、笹は日本固有の植物なので、英名はありません。

This is the first time I have seen sasas that grow so lively.

"Bamboo" and "Sasa" are very similar but those are different plants. Sasa is a unique plant in Japan, so there is no English name.

竹似草(タケニグサ) plume poppy

茎を折ると黄色い液が出てきます。その液をを足に塗ると、早く走れるというとんでもない言い伝えがありましたが、毒液なのでかぶれるだけです。

悪党面(あくとうづら)とは、人間だけでなく昆虫にも使えそうです。
でも、私達は善人面をした悪党を見抜く目を養わなくてはいけませんね。

The word "villainous apearance" can be used not only for humans but also for insects.
Yet, regardless of appearance, it is important that we need to have an eye that distinguishes the bad guys who pretend to be good.
