姫蔓蕎麦(ヒメツルソバ) pink knotweed

　ヒメツルソバは石垣にへばりついて咲く、という印象を持っていましたが、ここでは地面を這うように広がっていました。

　暑さ寒さ、さらに植え替えにも弱く、育てるのは難しいそうです。

　ミセバヤのふっくらした葉が赤くなり始めました。この頃が色が多くて最も趣があります。「ミセバヤ」の名前の由来は、「見せたい」だそうです。納得です。

ドレスデンの咲き方は神経質なのですが、今回は剣弁高芯咲きの特徴が出た咲き方をしました。

　花弁を縁取りするピンクは、日差しが強いと濃い色になり、弱いと淡くなるそうです。

四季咲き ever-flowering

　蔓性のバラには、四季咲きのものがないことを、教えていただきました。また、一季咲きのつる性のバラは、冬の間低温にさらさないと、春になっても開花しないそうです。

　アイスバーグと言えば、タイタニック号が氷山に衝突した痛ましい遭難を思い出します。

　氷山の形状は、北極域ではピラミッド型のものが多く、南極海域では、卓状型が多いそうです。氷河からか、棚氷からか、生まれる違いによるのでしょう。

　Speaking of icebergs, I remember the marine accident of the Titanic crashing into the iceberg.

　They say the shape of icebergs is often pyramid-shaped in the Arctic region and table-shaped in the Antarctic waters. It seems that it depends on whether it is born from a glacier or an ice shelf.
