酔仙翁(スイセンノウ) rose campion

　葉や茎が、白い毛が生えたフェルトのような質感であること、それと対比して、花が赤紫色なのがとても印象的です。

　The leaves and stems have a felt-like texture with white hairs, and in contrast, the reddish-violet flowers are very impressive.

金糸梅 (キンシバイ) Hypericum patulum

　2023年6月4日の投稿した、ビヨウヤナギ、セイヨウキンシバイとよく似たキンシバイです。

　キンシバイは漢字で書くと「金糸梅」です。黄色い雄しべが、金色の糸に見えること、また５枚花弁の花の形が、梅に似ていることに由来しています。

　This is Hypericum patulum. This is very similar to Chinese hypericum and rose of Sharon, which I posted on June 4, 2023. 

　Hypericum patulum is "金糸梅" when written by the Chinese character. The first half "金糸" means gold string, and the last half "梅" means plum. The name comes from the fact that the yellow stamens look like golden string, and the shape of the five-petaled flower resembles a plum.

山法師 (ヤマボウシ) Japanese dogwood

　もう少したつと、果実が紅橙色に熟し美味しく食べれるようになりますが、種が大きく果肉が少ないのが玉に瑕です。

　After a little while, the fruits ripen to a reddish-orange color and are delicious to eat, but the seeds are large and the meat is small. It's the fly in the ointment.

マダムバタフライ Madame Butterfly

　花びらの縁が外側に反転すると、角になる部分ができてそこが鋭く尖ります。

　When the edge of the petal ｗarps outward, it forms a corner that becomes sharply pointed.

ドレスデン Dresden

　この株の花は、緑色で縮れた花びらがいつも交じります。なるべく写真には、その花びらが写り込まないようにしています。

　I don't know why, but the flowers of this strain always involve a green shrunk petal. I try to avoid the petal in my photos.

ポピー poppy

　風が強く吹いていたので、ポピーの4枚のうち2枚の花びらが立ち上がり、ひらひらと、閉じたり開いたりしていました。風が、少し異なるイメージのポピーを演出しました。

　With the wind blowing strongly, two of the poppy's four petals were standing, fluttering open and closed. The wind was giving the poppy look somewhat different.

ジギタリス digitalis

　ジギタリスの語源はラテン語で指を意味します。花が指サックににているので、この名前が付けられました。
　和名でも英名でもどちらも別名として、キツネノテブクロと呼ばれます。

　The name of digitalis comes from the Latin word for finger. It got its name because the flowers look like rubber finger.
　It has an alias name "fox glove" both in Japanese and English.
