オクラ okra

これは野菜のオクラの花です。オクラは日本語かと思っていましたが、英語名も同じ発音でした。

This is a flower of the okra which is vegetables. I thought this name was Japanese, but the English name had the same pronunciation.

随分と反り返るユリです。赤い斑点が落ち着いた色です。

キュウリのトゲ cucumbers have thorns

キュウリは、実が熟して種ができるまで、食べられないようにトゲで身を守ります。
完熟すると、トゲはしおれてなくなります。トゲがあるうちが、新鮮で美味しいです。

Cucumber protects itself by thorns so as not to be eaten until it ripens seeds.
A fully ripened cucumber doesn't have thorns anymore. While cucumber has thorns, it is fresh and delicious.

瞑想するカエル meditating frog

身動ぎしないカエルは瞑想しているようにみえました。一方、撮影する私は、スズメバチに威嚇され、緊張を強いられました。

It seemed that the frog which sat without moving was meditating. On the other hand, when I was taking pictures of the frog, a hornet threatened me, so I was strained.

銀杏 ginkgo

銀杏が実ってきました。美味しいのですが、果肉にかぶれて、ひどい目にあったことがあります。

A ginkgo tree bear a lot of fruit. It is delicious, but I got a rash with flesh of fruit and have had a terrible experience.
