松の花 flowers of pine

松の花には花びらも萼もありません。それは、花粉が風で運ばれるので、昆虫を呼ぶ花びらは必要ないからです。松の花には、雌しべと雄しべの代わりに、先端にある雌花とその下の雄花の二つの花があります。枝をゆすると、雄花から花粉が大量に噴出されます。

Pine flowers have neither petals nor calyxes. Pollens are carried by the wind, so petals that appeal insects are not needed. Instead of pistils and stamens, pine flowers have two flowers, a female at the tip and a male just below. When you shake the branch, a large amount of pollen is ejected from the male flowers.
