八重の椿 double flowered camellia

高い位置に咲いていましたが、なんとか撮れました。

This flower bloomed at the high position of the tree, but somehow I was able to take  a photograph of it.

石を割る breaking stones

ここは昔（室町時代）石切り場でした。矢穴の跡を、見ることができます。
矢とは、鉄製のクサビのことです。あらかじめノミで開けた穴に、このクサビを差し込み、ゲンノウで矢の頭を強く叩き、岩を割ります。

Here was a stone quarry in old days (Muromachi era). We can watch the trace of the arrow hole.
"An arrow" is an iron wedge. A stone mason inserts the arrow into a hole which made with a chisel beforehand. And he breaks a rock by strongly beating the arrow with a hammer.

朽ちたバケツ rotted bucket

赤色の錆びた防火用バケツが、軒下に伏せて置いてありました。
裏返して見るとは、酔狂なことです。

A red rotted bucket for fire extinguishing have been placed upside down under an eaves.
I checked the inside, just to satisfy my curiosity.

それは、ひと気のない神社の入り口に、空っぽで置かれていました。

It was empty, and it was left at the entrance of the desolate shrine.

狂い咲き blooming out of season

気温の変動に惑わされて、一旦咲きかけた桜です。

This cherry tree was confused by an irregular change of the temperature and seemed to be about to bloom once.
