春の訪れを告げる森の妖精たちです。

冬しらず Calendula

名前の由来を調べてみると、冬でもたくさんの花をつけるからだそうです。私は、春先になってから咲く印象を持っています。

The meaning of the Japanese name of this flower is "it do not know winter." When I checked the origin of the flower's name, I found that was because it had many flowers even in winter.

ムスカリ Grape hyacinth

ムスカリは、下から順に花が咲くので、上部の花が咲く頃には下の花が萎み始めます。穂状にたくさんの花をつけるトラノオも同じ傾向が見られます。

Flowers of the Grape hyacinth blooms sequentially from the bottom, so lower flowers begin to wither away at the time the top blooms. We can see the same tendency in Alpine bistort which has flowers in a spike.

花の名前とは異なり、私にはダースベイダーを思わせるような不気味な雰囲気をこの花に感じます。

ボケ flowering quince

珍しい植物ではありませんが、香りの良いといわれる実を見たことはありません。あまり意識していないのでしょう。
