ベニシダレ Pendula Rosea
名前の通り、花は赤みが濃い、枝垂れ桜です。枝が垂れ下がるのは、枝の生長速度が速すぎて、枝が硬くなる前にどんどん伸びるからです。
The Japanese name of this cherry tree means red weeping cherry. As the name suggests, the flower is reddish. The branches are hanging, because they grow too fast to become harden themselves.

オオシマザクラ Oshima cherry
オオシマザクラは、葉の成長と一緒に白い花が咲きます。葉を塩漬けにすると独特の芳香が楽しめます。今年は、塩漬け作業をのんびりやっていたので、葉が茶色に変色してしまいました。
Oshima cherry blossom blooms simultaneously with leaf growth. We can enjoy a distinctive fragrance when we preserve the leaf in salt. This year, the leaves changed color to brown because I did the work leisurely.

桜の種類 kinds of cherry tree
この時期あちらこちらで、いろいろな種類の桜の花を見ます。どのくらいの種類があるのか調べてみると、なんとその数は600を超えるそうです。
We see many kinds of cherry blossoms here and there in this season. I checked how many kinds of cherry trees exist. To my surprise, the number seems to be over 600.

ムホンホソアシナガバチ parapolybia indica
この蜂は、越冬を終えて出てきたばかりのようです。そうであれば、女王蜂候補かも知れません。これからは、蜂が活躍する季節になります。蜂に刺されないよう気をつけましょう。

トサミズキ Spike winter hazel
トサミズキは、ヒュウガミズキとよく似ていますが、雄しべの先端がトザミズキは赤色、ヒュウガミズキは黄色です。雄しべの先端は花粉を入れる袋状の構造になっており、葯（やく）と呼ばれます。
