養殖魚用飼料 feed for farmed fish

魚のアラを養殖魚用飼料に活用

　従来は捨てられていた、魚の骨やアラを固形飼料（魚粉）にして、養殖魚の飼料にすることが進んでいるそうです。

　このニュースを聞いて想い出したのが、20年ほど前に話題になった狂牛病です。ウシから人間が食べる部分を取り除いて、あまった肉や骨などを細かく砕いたものを肉骨粉として、それを飼料としてウシに食べさせたため、この病気は引き起こされました。

　自分と同じ生物を食べることは、必要な栄養素を効率よく取り込めることは、容易に想像できますが、デメリットもあります。自分と同じかあるいは近い種目を食べるということは、それだけ、かかりやすい病気の元が濃縮されて取り込まれる可能性があるということです。

　上記は私見です。杞憂だと良いのですが…

Utilizing Fish Dregs As Feed For Farmed Fish

　It seems that fish dregs, which were previously discarded, are being used as solid feed to farmed fish. 

　When I heard this news, I remembered the mad cow disease that became a hot topic about 20 years ago. The disease was caused by feeding cattle with meat-and-bone meal. This meat-and-bone meal is a feed made from the part of the cattle that is not eaten by humans.

　It's easy to imagine that eating the same species is an efficient way to get the nutrients you need. However, there is also decisive disadvantages. Eating the same species means that the source of the illness may be condensed and taken it into your body.

　That's my point of view. I hope it is a needless fear.

養殖ブリ farmed yellowtail

ホトケノザ henbit deadnettle

 　春に咲くホトケノザが咲いていました。ホトケノザは越年草なので、気温が暖かい日が続いていたので、この時期にも関わらず咲いたのでしょう。

　Henbit deadnettle blooming in spring has been in bloom. It is a grass that goes through the winter, so it may have bloomed at this time because the warm days continued.

蜜柑(ミカン) mandarin orange

 　この時期、好んでミカンを食べますが、木になっているのを見るのは初めてです。この木はよく実がなっています。

　I enjoy eating mandarin oranges this time of year, but this is the first time I've seen an orange tree produces fruit. This tree bears well.

コウヨウザンの実 fruit of Chinese fir

　コウヨウザンの実が落ちて、モミジの葉に引っかかっていました。

　The fruits of Chinese fir fell and were caught on the Japanese maple leaf.

生命力 vitality

 根本から伐採されたイチョウの木に、蘖（ひこばえ）が、左右に別れ勢いよく育っています。すごい生命力です。（骨シンチグラフィー検査の日に）

The basal shoots are growing vigorously on the left and right sides of the ginkgo tree that has been cut down from the root. I feel great vitality in them. (On the day of my bone scintigraphy examination)

イロハモミジのおちば fallen leaves of Japanese maple

 この崖ぎわの植物は寒菅(カンスゲ)でしょうか。その上に、イロハモミジの葉が積もっていました。

I suppose this cliff-side plant is a carex morrowii. There were Japanese maple leaves fallen on it.

色とりどり colorful autumn leaves

　落葉広葉樹の葉が、紅色や黄色に色づくことを、どちらも紅葉(こうよう)すると、表現していましたが、正確には、紅色に色づくことは紅葉、黄色は黄葉と漢字で表記し、読みはどちらも"こうよう"でいいそうです。

　Green is the color of chlorophyll, yellow is the carotenoid, and crimson is the anthocyanin.
