白梅(はくばい) white Japanese apricot blossoms

　白梅がびっしりと咲いていました。ほのかな花の香りに包まれて、なんだか雪が積もっているような雰囲気を感じました。

　A lot of Japanese white apricot flowers have bloomed tightly. Surrounded by the subtle scent of blossoms, I felt somehow a kind of atmosphere, snowflakes were on the trees.

枝垂れ梅(シダレウメ) weeping Japanese apricot

　遠くから見ると、シダレウメは桜とよく似ています。

　ここは東南向きの日当たりの良い墓地の斜面です。手前の黄色い花はミツマタです。

　A weeping Japanese apricot resembles a cherry tree flower from a distance.

　This is the slope of a sunny graveyard facing southeast. The yellow flowers in the foreground are paper-bush flowers.

満作(マンサク) Japanese witch hazel

　葉より花が先行します。花弁は黄色い線形で4つ、ねじれてシワのある独特の形をしています。枝はしなやかで丈夫なので、輪かんじきや筏を編む材料として使われていました。

　The flowers precede the leaves. The petals are linear yellow and have a unique shape with four twists and wrinkles. The branches are flexible and durable, so they were used as wakanjiki (Japanese snowshoes) and raft braids.

キエフの大門 Golden Gate of Kyiv (Золоті ворота)

　何年ぶりでしょう、ムソルグスキー作曲のピアノ組曲「展覧会の絵」を聞きました。

その最後の曲名がキエフの大門です。

　その門は、かつてモンゴル帝国に破壊されましたが、現在は復元されています。

　地図で場所を調べると、ウクライナの首都キエフの中心にあることを知りました。そのすぐ南側には、ウクライナ国立歌劇場があります。

　2022年1月に、この劇場で撮影されたキエフ・バレエ｢白鳥の湖｣全編が、株式会社光藍社殿のご厚意により、youtubeで見ることができます。

　For the first time in a while, I heard the piano suite "Pictures at an Exhibition" composed by Mussorgsky. The last song name is the Golden Gate of Kyiv.

　The Gate was destroyed by the Mongol Empire in the old days, but is now being restored.

　When I looked up its location on the map, I found that it was in the center of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. Just south of it, there is the National Opera House of Ukraine.

　The Kyiv ballet "Swan Lake" filmed at this theater in January 2022 can be viewed from start to finish on YouTube with the kindness of Koransha Ltd.
