カリブラコア Calibrachoa

　撮影するときには、花はもっと密に咲いていた印象でした。全体の一部として見るか、切り取って見るかで印象が変わるのかも知れません。

　Before taking this photo, I felt the flowers were more dense. The impression may change according to whether I see it as a part of the whole or cut it out.

薮茗荷(ヤブミョウガ) Pollia japonica

　ヤブミョウガが小川のほとりに生えていました。湿った場所が好きなようです。我が家にはミョウガが生えていますが、両者で花は全く異なります。葉はよく似ていますが、ミョウガのほうが長いようです。ヤブミョウガは、ツユクサに分類され、ミョウガはショウガ科です。

　A bush ginger has been growing on the bank of a stream. They seem to like damp places. Japanese ginger grows in my garden, but the both flowers are completely different. The leaves are similar to each other, but Japanese ginger's leaves a little longer. Pollia japonica is classified as Commelinaceae, and Japanese ginger belongs to the Zingiberaceae family. Both plants are referred to as ginger in Japan.

鬼百合(オニユリ) tiger lily

　オニユリは、花の色や形が赤鬼のようであることから付けられた名前です。勿論、赤鬼は想像上の怪物ですが、写真で見るように、この花からは不気味で恐ろしいさも感じられるので、そんな名前がついたのでしょう。

　The Japanese name for tiger lily is "Oni-Yuri," "Oni" means demon and "Yuri" means lily in Japanese. The name was given because the color and shape of the flowers are like red demons.

　Of course, the red demon is an imaginary monster, but as you can see in this photo, this flower is a little creepy and scary, so it's probably named that way.

紫陽花(アジサイ) hydrangea

　アジサイを水盤に浮かべるのも趣がありますね。私も水浴をしたい暑さです。

　It's also feel good to float hydrangea in the flower bowl. It is hot, so I'd like to bathe in as well.

塩辛蜻蛉(シオカラトンボ) Common skimmer

　トンボが、蝶を食べているところを見るのは初めてです。足で蝶をがっちり抱えて、顎が盛んに開いたり閉じたりしていました。トンボは通常、飛んでいる蝶を空中で捕まえるそうです。

　I've never seen a dragonfly is eating a butterfly before. The bug was holding the prize tightly with its legs, and its jaw opened and closed actively. I heard that a dragonfly usually catches a flying butterfly in the air.

萱草(カンゾウ) Orange Daylily

　カンゾウには、いろいろ種類があります。ヤブカンゾウは八重咲き、ノカンゾウは一重咲きです。

　花はすぐに枯れるので、忘れ草(ワスレグサ）とも呼ばれます。

　1枚目の写真の下部に写っている白い2本の線は、稲をイノシシから守る電気牧柵です。触れると瞬間ですが、およそ4000Vの電撃ショックを受けます。跨ぐときは緊張します。

　There are many varieties of Orange Daylily. A "Hemerocallis fulva var. kwanso" is a double-flowered daylily, and a "Hemerocallis fulva var. longituba" is a single-slowered daylily.

　The flowers die quickly, so they are also called a "forgotten grass" in Japanese same as a "DAYlily."

　The two white lines at the bottom of the first photo are electric barriers that protect rice from wild boars. When you touch the wire, you will receive an electric shock of about 4000V. I'm nervous when I step over the wire.
