鬼百合(オニユリ) tiger lily

　オニユリは、花の色や形が赤鬼のようであることから付けられた名前です。勿論、赤鬼は想像上の怪物ですが、写真で見るように、この花からは不気味で恐ろしいさも感じられるので、そんな名前がついたのでしょう。

　The Japanese name for tiger lily is "Oni-Yuri," "Oni" means demon and "Yuri" means lily in Japanese. The name was given because the color and shape of the flowers are like red demons.

　Of course, the red demon is an imaginary monster, but as you can see in this photo, this flower is a little creepy and scary, so it's probably named that way.
