クサボケ（草木瓜） Japanese quince

普通のボケのように背が高くならず、横に広がるクサボケがあることを知りました。実はどちらも固くて、ヤマモモに似た特殊な香りがします。

I learned that there is a Japanese quince that spreads to the side, not as tall as ordinary flowering quince. Both fruits are hard and have a special scent similar to red bayberry.
