草苺(クサイチゴ) rubus hirsutus

　クサイチゴには、赤い小さな実が成ります。その実は、甘くて美味しいと聞きますが、食べたことはありません。

　The Rubus hirsutus bears small red berries. I've heard that it's sweet and delicious, but I've not tried it.

里桜(サトザクラ) Sato Zakura

　サトザクラは、オオシマザクラを親として交配された品種の総称です。ソメイヨシノもオオシマザクラとエドヒガンザクラの交配種ですから、サトザクラといえます。
　サトザクラの多くは、遅咲きで八重咲きになる種類が多いので、単に八重桜（ヤエザクラ）とも呼ばれます。ただし、八重咲きのサクラがすべてサトザクラではありません。
　名前のことはともかく、桜の美しさを楽しみましょう。

　Sato Zakura is a general term for varieties created by crossbreeding Oshima Zakura as a parent. Somei Yoshino is also a hybrid of Oshima Zakura and Edo Higan, so it can also be called Sato Zakura.
　Many Sato Zakura varieties are late-blooming and double-flowered cherry trees. Therefore Sato Zakura is called simply as Yae Zakura (double cherry blossoms). However, all Yae Zakura are not Sato Zakura.
　Setting aside the name, let's enjoy the beauty of the cherry blossoms.

ツツジ azalea

　ツツジが咲き始めました。ツツジにしては小ぶりの花で、雄しべは５本です。サツキではないかと疑問が湧きますが、開花時期と葉に光沢がないので、ツツジとしました。
　英語では、ツツジもサツキも同じ名前のアザレアです。

　The blooming of "tutuji", or azalea in English, has begun. The flowers are small in size for a "tutuji" and have five stamens. I wondered if it might be "satuki", or azalea in English, but because of the flowering time and the lack of shine in the leaves, I decided it was "tutuji."
　In English, "tutuji" and "satuki" are both called azaleas.

　留め具のベースに彫られた模様は何だろう。植物の葉と実が彫られているように見えます。いろいろ考えた挙げ句、琵琶ではないかと思いました。

　What is the pattern engraved on the base plate of the clasp? It appears that the leaves and fruits of the plant have been carved onto it. After much consideration, I concluded that it was probably biwas in Japanese, or loquats in English.

調和の美しさ beauty of harmony

　空間全体が芸術作品のように感じられます。

　The entirety of the space seems to be a work of art.

ガード下 under the railway bridge

　この長く続く高架線路の下のスペースには、居酒屋やその他の店舗が多数入っています。隣り合うお店との間は、レンガとコンクリートで造られた橋脚です。
　見た目は同じ人工物の橋脚でも、年月が経つと、それぞれの個性を持つ風貌に変化していきます。特に漏水のある橋脚は、独特な雰囲気を持っています。
　そぞろ歩きしながら、それらを見て歩くのは楽しいです。

　In the space under this long stretch of elevated railway tracks, there are many izakaya, or Japanese-style pubs, and other businesses. Between next to each other shops, there are bridge piers made from bricks and concrete.
　Although all man-made bridge piers may initially look the same, over time each one will develop a unique appearance. The pier with the part of water leaking in particular has a unique atmosphere.
　It's enjoyable to stroll around and observe them.

接骨木(ニワトコ) elder tree

　死の秘宝には三つあり、その一つが魔法界最強のニワトコの杖だそうです。そのことが、ハリー・ポッター物語に書かれていると聞きました。
　何年も前に、まっすぐなニワトコの枝をたまたま入手したので、いつかのために、歩行用の杖を作ってみました。でも、その杖からは、なんら魔界の世界を感じることはできませんでした。それどことかニワトコの木は、材として軽くて強度が低いので、歩行用の杖として使えるものではありませんでした。
　フェニックスの羽をくみこなかったせいかもしれません。

　Three Deathly Hallows exist, and one of them is the Elder Wand, the most powerful weapon in the wizarding world. I heard that this is mentioned in the Harry Potter books.
　Many years ago, I happened to find a straight elder branch and made a walking stick from it, hoping it would be useful in the future. However, I couldn't sense anything from the demonic realm with it. In addition, elder wood is light and has little strength as a material, so it could not be used as a walking stick.
　I'm not sure if it's because I didn't combine the Phoenix feathers in it.
