庭石菖(ニワゼキショウ) Eastern bllue-eyed grass

　この植物の学名は、Sisyrinchiumです。ギリシャ語で豚を意味する「sys」と、鼻を意味する「rhynchos」が語源です。牧草地に生えたニワゼキショウを、豚が鼻で掘り返してしまうことからつけられた名前です。何とも、率直な名前です。
