イチイの実 fruit of Japanese yew

イチイは被子植物なので、厳密に言えば果実をつけません。
赤い実に見える部分を下から覗くと、黒い種子が見えます。赤い部分は、少し粘り気があり、甘くて美味しいです。ところが、種の部分は猛毒なので注意が必要です。
自然界には、何と有毒な植物が多いことでしょう。
