I visited Haneda Airport yesterday by means of a limousine bus.
On the bus on the way there, a passport belonging to a U.S. citizen was found among the lost and found items. The driver hold it, but I'm worried whether it was delivered to the owner without any problems.
By the way, recently manufactured passenger planes' wingtips curl up. It's really catch eyes. That's to reduce air resistance and improve fuel efficiency.
Because lower air pressure is created on the upper surface of the wing and higher air pressure on the lower surface, the airplane rises into the air. Since the air at the bottom flows upward, a vortex forms there. When this vortex forms, it creates air resistance, which results in higher fuel consumption.
This curled up construction is a design feature known as a Wing-let or Shark-let, which can improve fuel efficiency by a few percent.
