ポリアンサス polyanthus

　ポリアンサスは、ヨーロッパ原産のサクラソウの交配種です。

　サクラソウには、500を超える種類があるそうです。この花の直径は、3cmほどと日本のサクラソウより大きく、色も異なるものでした。

　Polyanthus is a hybrid primroses native to Europe.

　There are more than 500 kinds of primroses. The diameter of this flower was about 3 cm, which was larger than that of Japanese primroses, and its color was different.

2種類の花 two types of flowers

　桜草の花には、長花柱花と短花柱花との2種類あります。花の中心部を見ると、長花柱花は雌しべの柱頭が見え、短花柱花では雄しべの葯が見えます。雄しべそのものは見えません。

　There are two types of primrose flowers, one is a long-styled flower and another is a short-styled flower. Looking at the center of the flower, you can see a head of a pistil in the long-styled flower and anthers of stamens in the short-styled flower. You can't see the stamen itself.

水仙(スイセン) narcissus

　八重のスイセンが道端に咲いていました。

　Double-flowered narcissus was blooming on the roadside.

放射状 radial

　まるで爆発したかのように咲いていました。

　It bloomed as if it blew up.

紅梅と木蓮 red ume and magnolia

　満開の紅梅の向こうに、蕾が膨らんできた木蓮が見えます。

　Beyond the red Japanese apricot in full bloom, you can see the magnolia with swollen buds.

桜草(サクラソウ) primrose

　サクラソウの花びらは桜と似ていますが、花の構造が大きく異なるので、花全体として印象は、かなり異なります。サクラソウは雄しべが隠れていますが、桜のそれは目立ちます。

　The shape of the petals of a primrose and a cherry blossom is similar, but the structure of the flower is so different that the general impression is quite different. As for the primroses, stamens are hidden, but those of cherry blossoms stand out.

枝垂れ梅 weeping Japanese apricot

　枝垂れると言うと、力なくぶら下がる枝を連想しますが、桜に比べると、梅には力強さを感じます。

　Speaking of weeping trees, I remember twigs that hang weakly, but compared to cherry blossoms, Japanese apricots seem to have strength.
