だるま市 daruma market

　昨日は、だるま市に行ってきました。

　だるま人形の色には、それぞれの意味があるそうです。あなたなら何色を買いますか。

　赤：家内安全・開運

　青：才能向上

　黄：金運

　緑：健康増進

　黒：商売繁盛 

　I went to Daruma market yesterday.

　Dharma doll is popular with the Japanese as a talisman. Daruma has some colors, and I heard each color has its own meaning. What color do you want?

　For example:

　Red: Family safety and good luck

　Blue: Talent improvement

　Yellow: Money luck

　Green: Health gains

　Black: Business prosperity

綿のよう look like cotton

　植物の名前はわかりませんが、綿のように見えます。

　I don't know the name of this plant, but it looks like cotton.

飛び散る水 splashing water

　飛び散った水滴が、葉を芯に氷となって成長しています。

　The scattered water droplets grow as ice on the surrounding leaves.

手水(ちょうず) cyouzu

　凍てついたちょうずです。沈んだモミジの葉がよいアクセントになっています。

　A 'cyouzu' was frozen. The sunken maple leaf was a nice accent.

　'Chozu' is usually set at the precinct of a Shinto shrine or Buddhist temple where worshippers cleanse their hands and mouth.

玉珊瑚(タマサンゴ) Jerusalem cherry

　タマサンゴの果実は、色も形もミニトマトに似ていますが、毒があるので食べられません。

　Fruits of Jerusalem cherry have the same color and shape as cherry tomatoes, but they are toxic and inedible.

モミジの翼果 maple samara

　白い翼果が、陽の光を浴びて輝いていました。

　White samaras, which are also known as winged seed, were shining in the sunlight.

等高線のよう like contour lines

　辺りには、誰かが踏み固めた足場が残っていました。同じ想いで写真を撮った人がいたのでしょう。

　There were some scaffoldings that someone had stepped on around. I think there was a person who took the pictures with the same feeling.
