栗の花 flower of chestnut
栗の花が散る頃には梅雨に入る、と言われています。気象庁は本日、関東地方が梅雨に入ったと宣言しました。
それにしても、栗の花は大変生臭いです。

ミヤマモンキチョウか Colias palaeno?
羽根がピンクに縁取りされた黄色の蝶に出会いました。希少のミヤマモンキチョウかと一瞬思いましたが、ここは、海抜160mの関東平野ですから、モンキチョウです。
ミヤマモンキチョウは、森林限界に生息する蝶ですから。
I came across a yellow butterfly which has feathers rimmed in pink.
It looked like a rare "Colias palaeno" at first, but this place was Kanto plains of 160m above sea level, so I decided it was an "Eastern Pale Clouded Yellow."
A "Colias palaeno" inhabits the timberline around.

トチノキ horse chesnut
小さな花が次々に降ってくるのですが、見上げても花は見えません。
トチノキの花は、葉の上に立ち上がる穂に付いているからです。下から見ると多くの大きな葉の陰になってしまいます。

Flowers of horse chesnut bloom on a spike which stand up on the leaves. We cannot see the flowers from bottom, because they are behind the many big leaves.

ギンリョウソウ Monotropastrum humile
それほど珍しくはありませんが、見つけると写真に撮らずには、いられなくなります。足場が悪い場所なのでちょっと無理をしました。
