キバナコスモスは、メキシコ原産の帰化植物です。よく似た花に、オオキンケイギクがあります。こちらは、日本の自然環境に被害を及ぼす植物なので、特定外来生物に指定されています。両者は混同されやすいので、キバナコスモスはお気の毒です。
The orange cosmos is a naturalized plant native to Mexico. There is a very similar flower called Lanceleaf tickseed. Since this plant causes damage to Japan’s natural environment , it has been designated as an invasive alien species. The two are often confused, so I feel sorry for the orange cosmos.
