花虎ノ尾(ハナトラノオ) Physostegia virginiana

　花は整列して、下から咲き進でいます。

　雨あがりで湿度が高かったせいか、蚊が元気付いており、花を鑑賞するどころではありませんでした。

　The mosquitoes were vital, probably because of the high humidity after the rain, so it was hard to appreciate the flowers.

仙人草(センニンソウ) Sweet Autumn Clematis

　センニンソウは、ウシノハコボレとも呼ばれます。牛がこの草を食べると、歯がこぼれ落ちるかどうか真偽はわかりませんが、有毒であることは間違いないです。他にも、ウマクワズという別名もついています。

　The Sweet Autumn Clematis is also known as "Ushinoha-kobore" in Japanese. "Ushinoha-kobore" means that teeth of a cow slip out from his/her mouth. I don't know if cows eat this grass and their teeth spill, but it's definitely toxic. It has also another name, "Uma-kuwazu" meaning horse doesn't eat it.

晴れのち曇り sunny followed by clouds

　天気予報では、明後日の午前中は久しぶりに太陽が顔をだすようです。でも、午後は曇るそうです。

　According to the weather forecast, the morning after tomorrow, it will become clear for the first time in a while. However, it appears cloudy in the afternoon.

首を冷やすタオル towel to cool the neck

　先日の暑い日、都立公園で、水に浸すだけで首が冷たくなるタオルをいただきました。その後、天気が悪く寒い日が続き、タオルの出番がありません。暑いか寒いかのどちらかで、ちょうど良い日がありません。

　The other day, on a hot day, at a metropolitan park, I was given a towel that makes my neck cool just by soaking it in water. Since then, it's been raining and getting cold, so I haven't used the towel. The temperature is either hot or cold. There are no days when the temperature is comfortable.

アメイロアリ Nylanderia flavipes

　ムクゲの花に、透明できれいなべっ甲色をした小さな蟻がたかっていました。後で調べると、このアリの名前はアメイロアリでした。

　There were some small ants on the  the Hibiscus syriacus flower. It was a transparent and beautiful tortoiseshell-colored ant. Later, when I looked up the name of the ant, I found that it was a "ameiro-ari". In Japan, ameiro means candy-color and ari means an ant.

悪茄子(ワルナスビ) devil's tomato

　2021年7月17日に投稿したホソバウンランが数を減らし、その跡にワルナスビが出現してきました。どちらも強壮の多年草で、同じ時期に咲くと思っています。両者、同じ場所をシェアしているのか、あるいは競い合っているのだろうか。

　The number of yellow toadflax posted on July 17, 2021 has decreased, and the devil's tomatoes have appeared on the site. Both are vigorous perennials and bloom at the about same period, I think. I don't know whether they share or compete in the same field.

屁糞葛(ヘクソカズラ) skunk vine

　葉などを傷つけると悪臭を放つので、屁糞などという不名誉な名前をつけられました。雑草扱いですが、花自体は可愛いと思います。

　When the leaves and other parts are damaged, it gives off a bad smell, so it was called shameful name, "hekuso", it means  fart and shit in Japanese. It is treated as a weed, but I think the flowers themselves are cute.
