サマーメモリーズ Summer Memories

 　サマーメモリーズは、花びらが丈夫なため、型くずれしない逞しいバラです。
　余談になりますが、この品種名の英名はmemory（単数形）でなく、memories（複数形）です。私は、この違いがどのようなニュアンスの差を、生むのか分からないので、調べてみました。memory（単数形）は、"記憶（単なるデータ）"を指し、memories（複数形）は、"思い出（感情を伴う体験）"を指すということでした。
　そこで思い出したのは、"思い出の夏"という昔の映画です。原題を調べてみると、"Summer of '42"でした。
　私見になりますが、"Summer Memories of '42"とした方が、ひと夏の甘く切ない追憶といったニュアンスが漂い、ノスタルジックで素敵な響きになると思いました。

　Summer Memories is a sturdy rose whose petals are strong enough to retain their shape. 
　It's off the subject, this variety is named “memories” (plural) rather than “memory” (singular). I wasn’t sure what kind of nuance this difference would create, so I looked it up. I learned that “memory” (singular) refers to “memory (as mere data),” while ‘memories’ (plural) refers to “memories (experiences accompanied by emotions).”
　That reminded me a old movie named " A summer to Remember" as Japanese title. When I looked up the original title, it turned out to be “Summer of '42.” 
　In my opinion, I thought that using “Summer Memories of '42” would convey a sense of bittersweet memories of a single summer, giving it a nostalgic and nice ring to it.
