紫露草(ムラサキツユクサ) spiderwort

　雄しべの周りの毛は何のためにあるのでしょうか。生やしっぱなしの髭のように見えるので、無いほうが見栄えが良いと、個人的には思います。
　実際には、子孫繁栄のための、何らかの役割を負っているのでしょう。

　What is the function of the hairs surrounding the stamens? In my opinion, it looks better without them, as they resemble an overgrown beard. 
　In reality, it's probable that they play some part to survive of their offspring.
