マダム・バタフライ Mme. Butterfly

去年、バラは不作でしたが、今年は沢山咲く様子です。

The roses didn't bloom much last year. But this year, it looks like many roses bloom.

白い倒木 white fallen tree

枯れた倒木の白さにひかれ近づくと、まだ枝の先端から赤い新芽が沢山吹きでていました。
この印象的な赤い芽の木は、多分アメガシワです。

White fallen tree attracted my attention from a distance, so I approached it and noticed that a lot of red sprouts still blew from the tip of the branch.
I suppose this tree having these impressive red buds is a Japanese Mallotus.

バラの香り sent of roses

ある研究グループが、香りを可視化できる半導体チップを開発したというニュースを聞きました。香りの成分をレーダーチャートで表示できるそうです。今後の実用化を期待します。バラの花ごとのチャートを見比べるなんて、楽しそうですね。

I heard the news that said researchers have created a semiconductor chip that visualizes smell. It seems to be able to display the components of the aroma in a radar chart. I await future practical use. It sounds interesting to compare chart of every rose.

マルバウツギ fuzzy deutzia

ウツギに似た花が咲いていました。開ききって咲くので、マルバウツギだと思います。ウツギの花は、こんなにも開かず、下を向いています。

A flower like a deutzia bloomed. The flower is full open, so it would be a fuzzy deutzia. A flower of a deutzia does not open so much and faces down.

アヤメ iris

台地の草むらに自生するアヤメです。ここから数百メートル離れたところが、川に面する段丘崖になっています。そこからは大量の湧き水が川へ流れ出ています。周辺には高台など無い場所なのに、どこから水が流れ込んでいるのか不思議です。

It is an iris, which grows naturally in a grass field in a plateau.
There is a river terrace near here. A large quantity of spring water flows into the river at the place. Though there is not around any highland in sight, it is mysterious where water comes from.
