エアコン室内機落下 indoor air conditioner dropped

　昨晩、震度３の地震がありました。1分間くらい揺れましたが、我が家では何の被害もありませんでした。震源地が富士山に近かったので、気になりましたが、噴火の兆候はないとのことでした。富士山は、マグマがたまっているので、いつ噴火してもおかしくないと言われています。
　今日の午前中に、隣の部屋で大きな音がしたので、行ってみるとエアコンの室内機が、壁からはがれぶら下がっていました。一晩頑張ったけれど、力尽きてビスが抜けて落下となりました。
　壁が石膏ボードであり、その上短いビスで固定されていたので、弱い地震でも耐えられなかったようです。
　天気予報では、今晩台風が来るそうです。

　Last night, there was an earthquake with a seismic intensity rated at 3. The tremor lasted about a minute, but my house was not harmed. Since the epicenter was close to Mount Fuji, I was concerned, but was told there were no signs of an eruption. Magma accumulation inside Mount Fuji means a potential eruption at any moment, according to experts.
　This morning, a loud noise from the adjacent room caught my attention; upon investigation, I discovered the indoor air conditioning unit had come loose from the wall and was hanging down. It held on through the night, but eventually gave way; the screws pulled out, and it fell. The wall consisted of plasterboard and anchored with tiny screws, which indicates it wouldn't have been able to stand even a mild earthquake.
　The weather forecast predicts that a typhoon will arrive tonight.
