百合(ユリ) lily

　ユリの花には、６枚の花弁があるように見えます。ところが、内側の３枚は本来の花弁ですが、外側の３枚は実際は萼（ガク）です。私には、内側の方が外側よりやや幅広には見えますが、どちらも同じ花弁に見えます。
　自然界は、多様性があり豊かだなと思います。
　・本来の花弁と、本来の萼があるもの
　・花弁はあるが、萼のないもの
　・花弁に見える萼があるが、本来の花弁のないもの
　・花弁も萼もあり、両方が花弁にみえるもの

　Lily flowers appear to have six petals. However, the inner three are petals, the outer three are former sepals. To me, the inner parts look a little wider than the outer parts, but both look like petals.
　I think the natural world is diverse and rich. 
　・with true petals, and true sepals
　・with true petals but no sepals
　・with former sepals that resemble petals, but it has no true petals
　・with both true petals and former sepals, both look like petals
