百日草(ヒャクニチソウ) common zinia

　ヒャクニチソウが、二輪並んで咲いています。花の周囲に放射状に広がる舌状花の状態が、左右の花で異なっているのに、目が留まりました。　
　差が気になるのは、脳が物事の本質を見つけ出す、強い欲求を持つからだと言われています。それを聞くと、差の認知が、認識あるいは行動の、きっかけになっていることに気づきます。

　Two Common Zinias are blooming side by side. I noticed that the arrangement of the ray florets, which radiate outward from the center of the flower, differed between the left and right flowers. 
　It is said that the reason we interested in differences is because our brains have a strong desire to uncover the essence of things. When I hear that, I realize that the perception of a difference serves as a trigger for cognition or behavior.
