葉脈標本 skeleton leaf

　学校の理科の実験で、アルカリ溶液を利用して、葉から葉脈だけを取り出す実験を行った記憶があります。この葉っぱを見ると、虫がやわらかい葉肉の部分を食べたらしく、葉脈部分が網目状に残っています。もう少しきれいに食べてくれたら、しおりになったかも。

　I remember doing a science experiment in school where we used an alkaline solution to extract just veins of leaves. Looking at this leaf, it appears that insects have eaten the soft tissue. As a result, the veins have been left in a net-like pattern. If the insects had nibbled a little more neatly, I could use the leaf as a bookmark.
